(Husk's POV)
I knocked on the Angel Dust's door softly once and then a little louder the second time. There was no answer so I opened it a crack to look through, but he wasn't there. I entered his room entirely and looked around and didn't see him. I sighed, realizing where my boyfriend had ran off to.
I opened the door to the roof of the hotel and found myself smiling softly when I spotted the silhouette of a spider like demon sitting with his legs dangling off the side of the roof in front of me. "Hey love," I sighed, sitting down next to my partner.
He turned to me with a startled look on his face. "Oh! Shit," he said as he elbowed me in the side. "Don't scare me like that you jackass."
"Sorry Legs," I said, laughing softly. I glanced over the edge of the building, which was quite a long way down. Despite the height, it was quite a beautiful view, for Hell at least. You could look over the whole pentagram, which was illuminated with bright and flashing lights that almost never turned off. "So, what'cha doing up here?"
"Just... thinking," Angel said slowly. Up here, it almost felt like we had all the time in the world. He leaned his head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arms around him. "Do you ever get tired of this?"
"Tired of what?" I asked. He wasn't usually one for vague questions, but this seemed important to him and if it was something that mattered to him, it mattered to me.
Angel turned away as his voice grew shaky. "O-of... Everything," he choked out, with tears in his eyes. I was shocked at his sudden rush of emotion and tried to comfort him as best as I could. He didn't open up much, but when he did, he was nervous about how vulnerable he was.
"Aw, love, what are you talking about?" I sighed, kissing his temple and pulling him close.
"Nothing. Never mind," He sniffled. "It's stupid." He pulled back and brought his knees up to his chest.
I smiled sadly as I spoke. "Angel, it's not stupid if you brought it up," I coaxed. "You can tell me anything baby, okay? I'm here to listen."
He didn't speak for a moment, leaving a heavy feeling pulling down on the air, before he moved closer to me. "I'm just... so sick of this and I-I-," he stammered with a deep sigh. He buried his head in his hand, frustrated for not being able to speak.
"It's okay," I said, planting a comforting kiss on Angel's cheek, making a gentle grin spread across his face. "Take your time, I won't rush you."
Angel took a deep breath and paused for a moment before collecting himself as he began to talk. "It's getting harder to get through this a-and I'm so tired of trying to get through every day. It- I... I kept using the drugs to cope, but after being clean for three months I felt... better... But I- now it's not working anymore- I- I thought it was working. Wh-why is it not working!"
I sighed and took one of his hands. "Hey. Listen love, you don't need to have this all figured out. Just keep talking if it makes you feel better, and if not, we can just stay up here for a little while longer."
"I want to keep talking... It's helping," Angel said, speaking slowly and quietly. I might not have known exactly what he was going through, but I understood that he was hurting and I knew that I couldn't fix it, and it hurt, but all I could do was be there for him.
"Of course," I said, kissing the side of his head and wrapping my wings around him instinctively. There were a lot of other things that I did without knowing and Angel loved to make fun of me for it.
He sighed, "I don't know why I make myself deal with Valentino everyday, honestly in the beginning I was excited to have a different kind of escape, but after a while I- I... I kind of started wishing... that this- that I could just end it all..."
I squeezed Angel's hand comfortingly as I used my other hand to stroke my fingers through his hair. "Do you wanna keep talking?"
He nodded and took another breath. "But I couldn't... I kept going back to that bastard and i- he was like an addiction. I couldn't- I can't leave. I don't know what to do." He sighed and buried his head in his hands.
"You don't have to know what to do," I said. "Let's just, stay up here for a little while longer, we don't even have to talk, but we will figure this out."
I could see his eyes turn glossy with tears as he sniffled, "T-thank you... for being up here with me."
I smiled at him lovingly as I spoke, "Anytime, love. Anytime." He gave me an adorable, genuine grin that made my heart melt on the spot as I pulled him into a long, passionate kiss. His lips tasted like the salt from his tears and it was oddly quiet on the roof, so I could hear the steady beating of his heart. "C'mon," I sighed as I pulled away. "Do you wanna go back down now, it's getting a little cold, don't you think?"
He paused and thought for a moment before burying his head into the crook of my neck and muttering, "No, I want to stay. I've got you anyways, don't I?"
"Yeah.. yeah you do, I'll always be here, love."
