(Husk's POV)
I sat down my thoughts racing around my head as I tried to formulate any sensible thing to say. Although me and Angel had been dating for about a month and a half or so, we'd never actually gone on a proper date and I was already nervous about asking him because of my terrible word skills. I wasn't usually one to show anyone affection through words, more through actions. Lucky for me Angel seemed to have notice, but I still wouldn't like to look like a blubbering idiot while I tripped over my own tongue in front of him.
"Hello Husker. Much on your mind? Hmm?" Alastor had vaporized next to me, making me jump.
"What the FUCK?" I snapped, dropping my drink and watching it shatter as Niffty ran over to clean it up excitedly.
"Why I couldn't help but notice your very annoying muttering and wanted to come and check in on my employee," Alastor said with a smug and unfaltering smile.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed another bottle of booze and took a long drink before replying gruffly, "Well, it's not any of your business."
"Ah, I understand..." Alastor's smile contorted into a scheming look as he continued to pester me. "Although I do believe it is my business seeing as you're my soul."
"Good God," I muttered under my breath, deciding that I might as well talk, not that it was much use to him anyways. "For your information I was planning on asking Angel out today and I have absolutely no idea how to do it."
Alastor was obviously not expecting this by the look on his face, but he recovered quickly and began to formulate a plan in his head from what I could tell. "Haven't you been dating for quite a while now?"
"Yes, but I guess we never got around to actually going on a date since Angel usually doesn't come home until three in the fucking morning and any free days that he has he's exhausted out of his mind," I shrugged as I took another drink.
"Well then, looks like you could use some help." Alastor raised an eyebrow as he took a bottle off the shelf and took a drink himself. He must not have liked it because his face contorted as he glanced down to read the label.
"Ugh... please stay out of this," I groaned.
"Ha! No... You've already told me enough so now, I am unable to remove myself from helping you, Husker."
I sighed, thinking it was probably better for me to let him intervene since he was going to get involved anyways. I waved my hand, as if brushing Alastor away as I heard the familiar clacking of sharp heeled boots sauntering down the stairs.
"Oh well, good luck failing miserably," Alastor sang before disappearing into the shadows again.
I rolled my eyes and noticed as Alastor reappeared in the parlor with an anticipating grin on his face.
"Hey, Whiskers," Angel yawned as he slumped down on the bar stool tiredly. His eyes drooped as he tried to still act flirty despite his lack of sleep. He hadn't gotten home until around one this morning and I had lugged his heavy ass upstairs so he could get to bed.
"'Morning Angel," I cupped his soft face in my hands and kissed him on his forehead, making his face turn a bright shade of red. I did glance over to where Alastor was, at first he had a disgusted look on his face but then he gave me his best attempt reassuring shrug.
"Ugh, I'm glad I get today off," Angel sighed, diverting my attention back to him. He seemed more energized now and had a small grin spreading across his face. "First time I don't feel like passing out and sleeping for the entire day."
My thoughts began racing again and my heart was now beating faster as I lost all grasp on what I had thought to say earlier. Lucky... or unlucky... I had no idea what this psychopath was planning, but it seemed to be in my favor.
"What our dear Husker will never be able to say, is that he want to go on a date with you, my effeminate fellow," Alastor stated in his usual, theatrical way as he materialized next to Angel, scaring him so much that he almost jumped out of his seat.
After recomposing himself, Angel turned back to me. "Aw, is that what you were gonna say?" He looked genuinely excited and I prayed (for the first time in my afterlife) that I wouldn't say something stupid and fuck it all up.
So I just nodded, my face was red as fuck so I still looked like an idiot. It didn't help that Alastor gave me look that read: 'Ha, you're utterly failing, but keep trying to make yourself look more like an incompetent.'
Angel laughed and said, "What? Are ya two working together or some shit?"
I rolled my eyes and glared at Alastor, who had now taken his own seat, before grumbling, "Well, he gets involved in everything." I felt like Angel took this a different way but he appeared to have taken it in a good way at least.
"Hmm, I bet so." He leaned his arm on the counter and rested his head on it while his other hand drew nervous shapes on the wood. I smiled at his little ticks. "So, when would we go out?" He asked excitedly.
"I was thinking today..." I began, before adding quickly, " But if that doesn't work out for you that's totally fine."
"No... I like today. Unless you wanna wait another two months before Val gives me another day off." Angel was now doing everything he could to avoid meeting my gaze.
"Yeah, today sound good."
I rested my hand on his cheek and turned his face toward mine. Angel was now blushing pretty hard, but I could feel the heat rushing to my face as I pressed my lips against his. His lips were the softest that I had ever kissed and he always tasted sweet, no matter what kind of day he went through. Although we had kissed before, every time I felt his warm lips against mine left me with a fluttering feeling in my stomach.
I pulled away and ran my fingers up Angel's neck as he smiled at me and began speaking in a gentle, sweet as honey voice, "What time do you wanna go out?"
"How about 8:30, hmm?" I suggested, kissing the tip of Angel's nose. He giggled in response and nodded.
"Sounds wonderful, baby." Angel stood up and leaned over the counter, kissing my cheek. "I'm gonna go out with Charlie, she said she wanted be to get out more so we're going to shopping. See ya later, love you."
Before I could reply Angel met up with a very happy princess of Hell who was now rambling on excitedly about something along the lines of finally getting to hang out with Angel outside of the hotel. Once the door shut loudly, my attention was averted back to Alastor who had been sitting there like a terrible stalker for the past five minutes.
"Well," Alastor said, throwing his hands up theatrically, "Despite that um... disgusting exchange of saliva, I'd say that went quite well."
I rolled my eyes and took another sip of my drink. "Yeah, and I have no idea why I'm taking dating advice from a murderer who's never actually gone on a date."
"Says the one who I haven't seen wear an actual shirt in over seven years," he replied, with his unfaltering smile.
I growled at him, my ears pinned back slightly.
"Husker, don't be like that, now we should probably find you something nicer to wear than what you're wearing right now." Alastor clapped his hands together and reached across the counter for a different drink.
"I have nine fucking hours, Alastor and I do not need you meddling in Angel and me's business."
"Oh, I'd love to help, so long as you two don't engage in coitus after-"
I cut him off because I did not need to hear about sex my virgin boss, "Please do anything else but talk to me."
"Very well," Alastor shrugged disappearing into the shadows again.
"Ugh," I mumbled, tossing my now empty bottle behind me, "I need anotha' drink."
(There will be a part two because I was just to excited to post this.)
