Sammy's POV
"Wake up! Wake up you sleepy head!!" I slowly opened my eyes in annoyance (yes, I'm always annoyed).
Ryan was jumping on the bed inorder to wake me up, "Good, you're awake!"
Then he got off the bed and started smiling sheepishly 🐑."Bro, have you lost it?" I asked, in a choleric tone. I scratched my eyes and yawned loudly, then I stretched like elastic and my bones made some cracky sounds.
When I opened my eyes after stretching, Ryan had disappeared.
What's his problem? I asked myself, and laid back down.
Suddenly, a bucket of cold water was dumped on me, and I sputtered. I got off the bed shivering and Ryan was staring at me with a smile dancing on his lips."ARE YOU MAD?" I yelled in anger.
"Reeelaaxxx! It's a special day today, and what I did to you is a normal ritual done to celebrants on their special day".
"What's so special about today?" I asked, squeezing my drenched shirt.
"Sometimes, I wonder if you're actually human".
"What?"
"You seem to be an extremely selfless person, and it's not so good".
"Get to the point".
"Happy birthday silly!"
My eyes widened and I face palmed myself, "Is it today?".
Ryan rolled his eyes at me in exasperation and sat on the bed, "Bro, you need help" he declared.
"No I don't! I just happen to forget a lot, especially trivial things" I shrugged and stood in front of him.
"So, your birthday is a trivial thing? Do you hear yourself?" He laughed.
I kept quiet and scratched my head in confusion. How could I forget a day that was only about me? Ryan might be right, I need help, but I'm not wrong; Sammy Oberoi is never wrong.
"Well, I admit I forgot it was my birthday, but that doesn't make me wrong. I'm just admitting that".
"Mhmm. Anyways, we should go out and celebrate" Ryan said smiling happily; as happy as a sandboy.
"I'm not celebrating my birthday in this village! And it's raining, everywhere is going to be muddy"
"But you have no choice, and the rain isn't that heavy, it'll stop in no time. I'm not leaving until I'm done with all my work".
"I know. So, I'm not celebrating my birthday then".
"Are you out of your mind? There's no way I'd let you skip your 25th birthday bro! We're celebrating and that's final! Now go get dressed".
"You can't make me".
"Oh really?".
" Yes!"
"Okay then".
