"..... therefore, we are gathered here today to express our condolences....."

Rita's body was burnt after the ceremony, and they all mourned her death.
Aunt Flora kept weeping all through the ceremony, while Sammy sympathized with her. Everyone, everything, the ceremony, they were all irritating to watch! They seemed to have forgotten that Sammy and I were supposed to get married today itself. But instead of a wedding to be held, a funeral was being held instead!

If Rita really had to die, then she should have done so after my wedding. It's all her fault my wedding got called off today, because we're busy mourning her worthless demise.
I swear to teach everyone a lesson for forgetting my wedding once I become this family's daughter-in-law.

"This family clearly dosen't care about you" mom whispered in my ear through her teeth, standing close to me. "They have no regard whatsoever. Sely dear, trust me when I say this family doesn't just care about you, not even Sammy!"

I stood still, clenching my teeth and squeezing the white dress I wore. "They will rue this!"

"That's what you always say, but when will you make them pay?" Mom said in a mocking way, letting out a bit of laughter.

I replied her sharply, "Just wait until I get married to Sam! I will personally ruin their lives"

We were interrupted by the shattering of glass. Mom and I looked behind us, and there she was...

...Diana! Did she hear us?

"My apologies, I didn't mean to drop--"

"Shut your trap!" mom snapped rudely, eyeing Diana up and down. "How dare you eavesdrop on our conversation? What a mannerless maid!"

"No ma'am, I---"

"Enough Mrs Rathore!" A masculine voice riposted. We took one look at the person who said that, and of course, who else would it be if not SAM!

Mom scowled at him, folding her arms while tapping her feet impatiently.

"You lack manners." Sam retorted without blinking an eyelid, keeping a straight face while glaring at mom. Mom was appalled by Sammy's sharp statement. Her folded arms slowly loosened, she glared back at Sam and walked closer to him. "What was that?" she asked, aggrievated.

"The truth!" Sammy replied, looking back at mom in the eye. "You lack manners. If no one else will tell you, I will".

"YOU HYPOCRITE!!" Mom's thunderous remark, created a scene, alerting the rest people who were present at the funeral. Aunt Flora and Grandma Kiran rushed closer to the scene when they realized it was mom and Sammy.

"Lower your voice Mrs Rathore, this is not your mansion" Sammy scowled back at mom. Diana held Sammy's left arm, causing him to look down at her. She simply shook her head, mouthing the words, "Leave it". Sammy inhaled and exhaled softly, nodding his head while giving Diana a light smile.
