Diana's POV
Sammy showed me my room, and helped me settle in. He was giving me the silent treatment for some strange reason. "What's wrong?" I asked him, but he didn't respond. "Sammy, what's wrong? Are you mad at me?" I asked him again, he still didn't respond. He was cleaning the room up for me.
"Sammy?!" I yelled pulling his arm, and we both fell on the bed. He was on top of me, so close to my face and it sent chills down my spine. We stayed there, gazing into each other's eyes, I could actually feel his breath on my face. My nose started itching badly, and I sneezed and my snot splashed on his face."What the heck!!!" He yelled and got off me. I gasped and closed my mouth. Feeling remorseful I quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry--".
"This is so disgusting!" he said and grabbed a tissue, wiping his face. "Next time, cover your mouth!"
"Sorry.." I said softly.
"It's fine. Accidents happen" he said and went back to cleaning. He started with the silent treatment again, "Sammy, are you mad at me?" I asked him again.
"Quit asking the obvious!" he snapped, not looking at me.
"But why? What did I do?"
He suddenly pulled me close to his chest, "Why did you tell everyone you were the new maid? Huh? Answer me?" He yelled."I-I-I-I--" I mumbled, trying to figure out what to say.
"You what??!!!!" he snapped again.
"I don't want to be a burden to you, or your family!" I said gloomily. He loosened my hand from his grip, "What do you mean?" he asked, pushing me towards the wall.
"It's true Sammy! What were you going to say to them? That I was your responsibility?"
"YES! What else would I have said?!"
" Just listen to yourself Sam, it doesn't sound valid at all! Your family won't let an outsider from Gangadia, live with them just because she's your responsibility!"
"I would have talked to them! You didn't have to lie about being a servant, do you know how bad I felt when you said that?!" he yelled, tearing up in rage. I could see he truly cared about me, he didn't want to see me get mistreated again. But what I did was for the best. It was the only valid thing I could think of, and it's the only way I can live here legitimately.
"Why does it matter so much to you?" I asked, walking away from the wall. He held my wrist and pulled me back to the wall, "It matters to me because you're my responsi--"
"Responsibility!!! Yes, I get it!" I shouted, cutting him off.
"Look, I must fulfill the promise I made to your mother. I won't let you live as a maid here, I'm going to tell everyone the truth!"
He walked towards the door, and I frantically panicked, thinking of how to stop him. He was about to turn the door knob, but he paused on hearing my statement.
