"Are you sure you trust her?" Onyx asks as he slides a beer across the counter into my waiting hand. His question is valid, but I can hear the judgment in his tone. Onyx doesn't trust anyone other than us. He thinks that everyone in this industry is out to get him, and considering this girl we have in our house is the infamous assassin, I'm not surprised he's not taking it well.

"She couldn't have known about the girl I helped a couple years back." I say to him in response. I didn't think that young girl was still alive. One night I was dropping her off with an envelope of cash, and the next, she wasn't there. I tried to find her to make sure she's ok, but without her name it was a losing battle.

Casey. That's her name.

She was a small little thing when I first met her. When I saw her working the corner I was appalled, and even angrier when I pulled up and she got in without hesitation.

Imagine my surprise when I'm driving back from the club one night and the next I have an eleven year old hooker in my car.

She reminded me of my younger sister. My dad sold her to a local pimp when she was fifteen or so, and I could tell from the look on Casey's face that something like that happened to her too. It broke my heart so I took pity on the girl. I made sure she was fed and gave her enough money when she worked so she could avoid a beating. Then, one night, she was just gone. It reopened the hole in my heart knowing that just like my sister, Casey was probably killed.

When I saw the dagger on the desk I didn't believe it. How could Casey still be alive and well enough now that she connected to a serial assassin. I shouldn't have been very judgemental though, Ghost seemed like a nice enough person to be looking out for Casey.

Surprisingly of all, Casey was the one who asked Ghost to tell me about the bounty. In a way she saved me right back and I want to laugh at that. She must be what, 13 or 14 now? And she's looking out for me.

I snort and take a swig of my beer.

"We have to figure out who called it in." Onyx says after draining his beer and tossing the bottle into the trash.

Before I can say anything, the spitfire assassin walks in like she owns the goddamn house.

"Crazy is all stitched up. I can go back to my place and get the name for you all." she says while popping her hip out. Onyx and I glance at each other in conversation with our eyes. Ghost rolls her eyes, like she always does, and grabs the beer out of my hand draining it in two gulps. She tosses it in the trash and looks back to me with her eyebrow raised.

"We're coming with you." Onyx blurts out. "And before you try to argue with me, just don't."

Ghost scoffs, "I wasn't going to argue."

That causes both Maverick and I to raise our eyebrows in surprise. This girl has done nothing but argue and talk.

"Ok I am going to argue. You guys can't come, it's my house I don't cross my lives." She says, as if that's going to convince us.

"Tough shit. You should've thought about that before you decided to play god and save Mav here." Onyx growls as he grabs ahold of her arm and drags her towards the front door. She goes willingly, murmuring something of annoyance under her breath. I follow the shape of her legs as she struts down the hallway, the swell of her ass in her skirt enough to make me half hard. If I had met this girl at the club there is no doubt I would've fucked her in my office, but now, all I can do is appreciate her form.

Kai and Dame poke their heads out of the side room, following Onyx and Ghost, and from the heat in Kai's eyes I can already tell she is going to be a problem.

Kai is an insane son of a bitch, and when he wants something he gets it. The problem with this girl is she has the means to kill Kai which in all honesty he would probably love. He's not going to let her go once we get our information, but I'm going to have to make him. Being associated with Ghost is dangerous enough.

As we pile into the car I turn around to see Ghost sandwiched between Kai and Dame in the backseat. Kai rubs his hand up and down her thigh, and runs his nose along her jaw and neck. She doesn't seem to care about his brand of crazy, taking it in stride and letting him basically feel her up while we drive.

Based on the glare in her big blue eyes she's keeping him right on the line though, and one step across she will beat his ass.

Almost as if I summoned it, I hear a squeal from Kai in the back followed by a rumble of laughter from Dame.

"Keep your damn hands to yourself, Crazy. I'm in no mood." She growls out.

I let the corners of my mouth twitch up, and from the side, I can see Onyx trying to hold back a smile too from the driver's seat.

Kai is going to get himself killed.
