"What'd you get?" That's the first thing that leaves Mav's mouth when he opens the door.

Onyx is not far behind him as they speedwalk down the hallway towards where Kai and I are standing over a map.

"Marco moved her not long after he got her. He has four properties listed under various names in a two hour radius. According to the guy we interrogated, the two furthest away are at capacity. That leaves these two." I say pointing to north and east of our current location.

Mav and Onyx crowd around the table, just as we are. Both men look as if this map holds the answers to the world's greatest problems. In a way it does. It we don't get Lilah back, we'll burn this entire world down. It's been three weeks and I would give us each one more week before we all go crazy. That's being generous too.

Kai has already killed over two dozen people and been locked in the basement a handful of times. I've never seen his bloodust take over so many times in such a short period of time.

His moods have been all over the place, and it's only made me realize how much Lilah actually did for him.

Mav and Onyx are no better. Mav hasn't been the house that many times in the past three, almost four, weeks. Onyx hasn't slept a wink, constantly going through leads whether they pop up.

Me? I've been the one to take care of issues at the club. I'm so out of my league there, but no one else is going to do it. Also I feel guilty. I would never tell my brothers how guilty I truly feel, but it's eating me up inside.

She gave herself up for me. For me! Lilah knew about my past and so did my brothers and they chose to give her back to her abuser rather than put me through that again.

It makes me feel weak and useless.

"Can we get this guy to talk more? Maybe tell us which we should scope first?" Onyx asks, his eyes never leaving the map.

I snort under my breath as I cross my arms. "Going to be a little difficult there."

Both Mav and Onyx look up from the map, their eyes going directly to Kai's.

Kai doesn't say anything, his face cold and emotionless. I don't think I've ever seen him be so vicious. Sure, he loves the blood and vuolence, but he kept this many alive just to torture him. He would restart his heart just so he could watch him die over and over again. It got to a point where I had to stop Kai to just let the poor man die.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't think he was innocent, but he didn't deserve all of Kai's bullshit just for being associated with Marco. It's not like he was the one who took Lilah from us.

Mav and Onyx don't say anything, looking back down at the map.

"We could split up? Two go to each?" Onyx suggests.

Mav is quick to shake his head. "Marco has sufficient manpower."

"So we do what? Flip a coin and hope she's at the one we go to?" I ask sarcastically.

"No." Mav growls, glaring at me. "If we pick wrong and Marco finds out, he'll move her."

"So what do we do?" Onyx asks looking at Mav for directions.

No one says anything and I'm not surprised. If we make the wrong choice then we may lose Lilah forever. Realistically we could go scout both places out, but that would just take longer and Lilah is already going through too much.
