*little itty steam

"I can walk." I grumble as Kai pushes me through the hospital hallways. He seems to be taking too much pleasure in doing this.

After the fifth day in the hospital I was ready to leave. They had to keep me there until the bleeding ended.

As soon as I came to my doctor had come in explaining everything that they found, and surprisingly the brothers didn't react nearly as badly when the doctor spoke. They obviously did something, probably threatened the doctor to hear everything earlier, but I'm just going to think they trust me and support me.

When the doctor told me any viable pregnancy was probably miscarried I genuinely snorted out loud.

I told her directly I had the implant and was not concerned about pregnancy at all. She still offered me the morning after pill which I gladly accepted. I mean, I'm all for relying on birth control, but might as well take it just in case.

After I got a clean bill of health, I demanded my release papers. I hadn't broken any bones so other than the cuts and bruises which are mostly healed, I'm doing ok.

So ok that I should be able to walk my damn self out of this hospital.

"No can do. Doctor's orders!" Kai sing songs which makes Dame laugh as he walks beside him. I murmur a few curses as Kai goes through the door. Outside, Mav and Onyx are waiting outside the car, their backs leaned against the doors. They stop their conversation as soon as they see me, looking at me with pure adoration.

If I was any other girl i would blush, but I'm too antsy to get out of this hospital right now for that bullshit.

As soon as Kai rolls me off the curb I shoot out of the wheelchair and dart towards the door, shoving Onyx out of the way and jumping in the backseat, letting out a deep breath as I settle into the leather seats.

"Calm, patient, easy. All words that do not describe you." Onyx deadpans as he climbs into the passenger seat while Mav rounds the car to hop in the driver's seat. Dame slides in beside me as Kai simply rolls the wheelchair away, without a care in the world about the hazards it poses. He slips in on my other side, automatically entwining out fingers and grabbing my legs and draping them over his.

"Rude." I say as I stick my tongue out in Onyx's direction.

Mav pulls out of the hospital and turns out towards the highway. As he merges, me cuts across a lane to get towards the exit that leads back to the Valor house.

"Mav!" Dame hisses as his hands come up to brace my shoulders. "Careful!"

"I'm not going to break Dame." I deadpan as I shake off his hands. It doesn't work.

"Are you ok? Did I hurt you?" He says, concern flooding his face as he whips his hands away inspecting them as of they are full of fire.

I want to roll my eyes at him and give him a slap across the face for thinking im some porcelain doll, but he's just worried.

I don't think I've had people worry for me before the Valors. Casey worried about me, but if I was gone for a few days she would just assume I was on a job. If I don't respond to a text within thirty minutes, the guys freak out and track me down.

It's a little overbearing and possessive, but the worry for me is new. I can't say I dislike it especially knowing that it comes from a good place.

I turn, dragging my hand and legs away from Kai so I can face Dame head on. Without second guessing myself I grip the back of his neck and pull him down to meet my lips. He seems stunned and first and I can feel his hesitance to pull away.
