Chapter 49

*ok so per chap 48 ( the new one replaced 47 ) Just Mav and Dame went to the church; Kai and Onyx have no idea. We're going to get a flashback of the brothers meeting as well as Lilah's perspective!! :)))

There will be TW in the next few chapters...for those who loved Mav...I am so sorry...

I've never been more thankful for drugs in my entire life. If I had to deal with Dame right now, I'm not sure both of us would survive the car ride home.

"You're an asshole. I'll never forgive you." Dame slurs as his head lulls to the side against the passenger's window.

I roll my eyes and continue on ahead, the rain pattering against the windshield as I round the bends back towards the house.

My grip on the steering wheel has not loosened since we got in. My knuckles are white and I can feel my hands cramping up, but I continue on.

As we pull into the garage, I take a moment to let my brain sort itself out now that I don't have the sound of rain beating on my soul.

There is so much that is about to happen, and I'm not sure we are going to survive it, especially after everything Dame and I learned.

When Marco called about Dammian, I died inside. I knew telling Kai and Onyx would mean killing them to and I just couldn't do it. Does that make me a good brother or a terrible one?

Giving up Lilah was both harder and easier than I expected. Harder because I had to see the woman she became when she was with him. Easiery because, despite all that shit, she stood tall.

"God Dame, help me out a little here!" I grunt as I throw one of his arms over my shoulder and haul him out of the car. Dame is lost to a sea of unconsciousness now, the only noise coming out are the soft slurs and snores that don't even form cohesive words.

I kick open the back door, leading into the kitchen, only to be met with a fuming Onyx and Kai.

"What the fuck Mav?! Where have you been?!" Onyx yells at me, his chest heaving.

"The fuck happened to him?!" Kai screams, darting forward to grab Dame's other side. I grunt once, shutting them both up as we walk Dame's body to the living room couch and tossing him down.

Kai takes a moment to look down at Dame's sleeping face, focusing on his rising anf falling chest before turning back to me and fisting my shirt.

"You going to tell us what's going on?" Kai growls, shoving me backwards.

I scrub a hand over my face, letting out a breath before pushing past Kai to go into the kitchen. I snatch a beer out of the fridge, cracking it open and taking a large gulp.

"Anyday now." Onyx says, his dark grey eyes showcasing the mask that he never uses on me. Why is he using it now?

I sinch my eyes and glare at both of my brothers as they stand before me, their bodies rigid and arms crosses.

"Just out of curriosity...what the hell do you think I've done?" I growl. I know damn well I have a lot of shit to explain, but spouting all of it now will only get me in more trouble.

They won't understand. They've been leading their lives with their hearts ever since they met Lilah. I never thought Onyx would fall before me, but he did.

I fell too.

"You come home with an unconscious Damian after being out for hours." Onyx lets out a growl that shakes me to my core. He's even more pissed than I thought he would be and damn it if it doesn't make me even more scared to tell him.
