Falling

If I fall, will you catch me?
Arms outstretched, heart open wide or will you stand, frozen, watching as I plummet from clouded skies?
With all the love I have for you a burning flame, a fragile trust will it be enough to cushion my fall, or turn to windblown dust? Will you let me fall and shatter like delicate glass upon stone?
Pieces of me scattered, glittering leaving you to stand alone in this moment of surrender balanced between faith and fear will you be my safe harbor or the rocks that I should fear?
The answer lies within your heart in the depths of what we share will love give you strength to catch me or will I fall through empty air?
Are you falling like I am?
Two souls in freefall's dance, or am I alone in this descent, caught in a solitary trance? Broken wings, once majestic, now useless in the sky, I plummet through the silence, wondering if you'll fly.
Did we soar too close to the sun, our feathers singed by dreams?
Or did the wind of change tear us apart at the seams?
In this graceless tumble, I search the void for you, are we falling together, or have I lost your view?
The ground rushes up to meet me, a cold and hard embrace, will you be there beside me,or have you found your place?
