Smile

Once, your smile was a distant memory, a light extinguished by time and pain.
But now, I see it dawning slowly, like sunrise after days of rain.
It starts as a flicker in your eyes, a spark of joy, almost shy.
Then it grows, much to my surprise, spreading warmth across the sky.
Your laughter, once rare, now fills the air, a melody I've longed to hear.
In your happiness, I find something rare, a purpose that I hold dear.
To be the reason for your delight, to chase the shadows from your face, it fills my heart with pure sunlight, and wraps me in a warm embrace.
So smile on, let your joy shine through, for in your happiness, I've found mine too.
It's a gift to see you bloom anew, and know I played a part in your renewal.
