I've built these walls with tears and time, brick by brick, a fortress mine.
You stand outside, a shadow long, but I'm no longer your sad song.
Remember when you held the key?
To chambers dark inside of me?
Those days are gone, that door is shut, I've sealed it with my hard-won trust.
For in your wake, I found my strength, pieced together at arm's length.
From shattered hopes and broken dreams, I've woven joy from golden seams.
This happiness, so hard I've earned, through lessons bitter, harshly learned.
It's mine to cherish, mine to keep, no longer yours to make me weep.
So knock all day upon my door, your siren song I'll ignore.
For in this castle I have built, I'm free from your destructive guilt.
You don't get to hurt me again, not now, not ever, former friend.
For I have found my truest wealth, In loving and protecting myself.
So turn away, and let me be, In this joy you'll never see.
For I have learned to love the light, that shines within me, warm and bright.
