I know I'm not a paragon of virtue, my flaws are many, mistakes not few.
I've stumbled and faltered along the way, said things I wish I could unsay.
But in this tangled web of life, through joy and sorrow, calm and strife, I've come to see with crystal clarity, your worth, your light, your rarity.
You're a good friend, steadfast and true, a beacon of hope when skies turn blue.
Your kindness shines, a guiding star,
Illuminating near and far.
People should see what I can see, the treasure of your company.
Show you care, for you deserve every ounce of love they can reserve.
Though I may fail in countless ways, I recognize your brighter days. Your friendship is a precious gift, a bond that gives my world a lift.
So let me say, though words fall short, you're valued more than you've been taught.
A good friend, rare and oh so dear, worthy of care, both far and near.
And as I strive to better be, the friend you so deserve to see, I'll cherish what you bring to life, abalm for all its toil and strife.
