Third person's POV
As their adorned car entered the beautiful mansion of the Shah family, her heart was beating very hard, it was not the first time she had come here, but it was the first time she would enter it as a new member of the family.
The car stopped on the porch and Tami arrived at the doorstep of her new home. She was greeted with a grand welcome befitting a bride of her stature.
The entrance was adorned with fragrant flowers and shimmering lights, creating a dazzling display of color and radiance. Traditional musicians played melodic tunes, their music filling the air with an aura of festivity and joy.
As Tami stepped out of the car, she was met with cheers and applause from her new family members, their faces lit up with smiles of warmth and welcome. The elders showered her with blessings and well-wishes, their eyes brimming with tears of joy at the sight of the radiant bride.
Her mother-in-law, Megha, and sister-in-law Mahi were standing there at the main door with a beautifully decorated thali for Aarti. ( a tray with a lit lamp is waved in front of her as a gesture of welcoming light and blessings into her new home). They welcomed her after performing the aarti.
Then she was asked to perform a ritual known as Griha Pravesh, she entered the home by stepping over a threshold marked with turmeric and water, symbolizing prosperity and purification. A metallic Kalash filled with Rice and Coins was kept at the door and she was asked to kick over a vessel filled with rice and coins as she entered, symbolizing abundance and prosperity in her new life. She did that gracefully.
Then she stepped into a big vessel filled with kumkum paste and walked into home with kumkum stainted feet leaving marks of her feet going inwards. This symbolizes the entry of the goddess Lakshmi into the house.
She dipped her hands in the Haldi paste and placed them on the wall to leave her hand marks on the home.
Megha made her sit with Mihir, though he looked annoyed, he agreed to sit there as there were many relatives ( only Ladies). Megha announced that they were to play games played between the bride and groom now.
She made them play a classic game where a ring was hidden in a bowl of milk, and they had to find it together. It symbolizes cooperation and teamwork in overcoming challenges. She won the game two times as Mihir was not even trying to find the ring. The third time she found the ring but placed it in his hands while their hands were still in the milk. He glared at her but she averted her eyes.
After this Megha asked her daughter Mahi to take Tami to her new room as Mihir looked annoyed.
Mahi took her there and finally, Tami was ushered into her beautifully decorated room. Mahi asked if needed any help with the veil. She nodded as her hands were shaking.
Mahi helped her remove the veil as they were alone now and she was intrigued as, to why Gaurvi was wearing it at all. When she removed it, was shocked to see Tami instead of Gaurvi.
" Tami?? You are Tami... " She said taking a few steps back. Tami nodded.
" How? Why?? " She asked out of shock but Tami didn't know how to explain, a few tears spilled from her eyes.
" What happened?? Does Mihir know about this? " Mahi asked, she just nodded.
" Mom? " She asked. Tami nodded again.
" Dad?? " She asked again but Tami shook her head.
" Oh, my god!! What happened? " She asked but she burst into tears as nobody knew about it and she got scared all of a sudden how would everyone react to it?
" It's okay! Calm down, Tami." Mahi gave her a glass of water and asked her to relax. Then Mahi went away after asking if she needed anything, and Tami shook her head. Mahi went to talk to her Mom as she needed the answers to her queries.
