Tami's POV

I was astonished to see Mihir already waiting for me. "How was your day?" he asked.

Not bad!!

"Good, but tiring." I said with a smile.

" You said you would be free by two, I reached here exactly on time but you were busy with him. Why didn't you inform me if you were getting late? " He asked.

" No, I had finished and wrapped up everything, when he called me. " I said.

" Why?? Doesn't he know that you have asked for a leave? " He asked making a face.

" Dr Rajvanshi wants me to go to a seminar and a camp for 15 days." I told him everything.

" Seminar and camp?? For 15 days?? But how can you go for 15 days? "

" But it will give me very good exposure and practice. " I said.

Mihir's expression tightened slightly. "Is that what he called you to discuss? Are you sure it is genuine? " He asked.

I looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean?" I asked as I didn't understand why he was asking such a question.

"I don't know, I don't trust him much." He said

"That's because you don't know him. He is a gem of a person. We all know him since his dad and chachu are best friends, like brothers, just like your dad and Rahul uncle.

He shrugged, trying to seem casual. "Just... be careful, Tami. Some people might have ulterior motives."

I nodded, appreciating his concern. But he didn't know Parshav's cool and chilled-out nature, that's why he was worried, but I was happy that he was concerned.  "Thanks, Mihir. I’ll keep that in mind."

As we left the office and Mihir started driving, I thought about how far I had come since that first day. The journey had been challenging, but every step was worth it. I was exactly where I was meant to be, making a difference in people’s lives and learning from the best.

There were still many hurdles to overcome, but with my family’s support and the skills I was gaining, I felt ready to face whatever came next. My internship with Parshav was just the beginning. There was so much more to learn, and I was eager for the journey ahead. He was a bit flirt but his intentions were not bad.

Since I started working with Parshav, I began to notice subtle changes in Mihir. Earlier he was annoyed as hell but recently, he has become a bit more attentive, and more involved in our conversations. He started eating what I prepared and complimented my cooking. It felt strange, given our history and the circumstances of our marriage, but I welcomed the improved atmosphere.

Mihir's father continued to improve, and Mihir and I opened a bit. Despite the complexity of our relationship, we found moments of genuine connection, small instances where our partnership felt less like an obligation and more real.

"Tami," he said suddenly, his tone serious, "I know things have been difficult between us. But I want you to know that I appreciate everything you’re doing for my father and me."

I looked up, meeting his gaze. "Thank you, Mihir. That means a lot to me."

He reached out, taking my hand. "I want us to try to make this work. For my father's sake, and maybe for us too."

My heart skipped a beat. There was something sincere in his eyes, something that made me believe we could find a way through this. "I’d like that," I said softly.

As he continued driving, a sense of hope filled the air. Perhaps this marriage of convenience could turn into something real after all.

We reached our farmhouse and after keeping our stuff there and having some refreshments, Mihir asked the caretaker about the arrangements and he told us that he followed the instructions of Mr Ranveer Kapoor as suggested by him.

Mihir nodded and told him to go then asked me if I would like to see around and I nodded with a smile. He gave me a round of the beautiful property showing everything. I really loved the place.

" It is designed by mom, right? " I asked.

" Yes," he said.

" And that must be the famous pond that played an important role in my dad's life. The place where my mom confessed her love for him. My dad once told me how mom confessed her feelings for him while she was sleeping. Though I don't believe it... She must have been hiding them for years... How did she say that in front of him?? "  I asked. He didn't say anything but looked at me.

" What happened?? " I asked as he had turned serious all of a sudden.

" Nothing... Dad, once told me about it, that your mom tends to speak, while she is in deep sleep, and your sister told me how you have taken after her. " He said.

" Oh, my family says that I also do that... But I don't remember any such thing. But yes, I have seen mom doing it. " I said shaking my head.

"It is ok... " He said with a faint smile and we went inside.

*******

After some time Ron Jiju and Mahi also joined us with Raj Ji, Myra di, and Roohi. We all greeted each other I congratulated Myra Di, and she thanked me with a smile. Mihir hugged Mahi and then Roohi. Mihir and Roohi have been very close since the beginning earlier I used to think that they liked each other but later I realized he had eyes only for my sister.

The snacks were served and thankfully, Myra and Mahi liked them. Mihir was happy to see mahi and Roohi, one of his friends was here so he called Vihan as well. He joined us very soon as if he was waiting for Mihir to call him.

Everyone was enjoying the gathering a lot, I liked how Ron jiju and Raj ji were taking special care of their pregnant wives. It was so good to see them so happily in love with each other.
