silent tears

Who listens to me when I cry?
When tears fall like rain from the sky,
No one's there to ease my pain,
No shoulder offered to lean my strain.

I long for arms to hold me tight,
To whisper softly, "It's alright."
But solitude is my embrace,
No comforting voice, no warm embrace.

Yet when they need a listening ear,
I'm always there, no hint of fear.
A smile, a nod, my heart laid bare,
Their burdens mine, with love to spare.

So who listens to me when I cry?
In the silence, I wonder why
I give my all, though often denied,
Still, I stand by their side.

But perhaps one day, they'll see,
I hope they see the tears I hide, the need in me.
And offer solace, warm and true,
A shoulder, a heart, for me too.
