It has been a week since Haerin left this mansion and moved to Kim's Island.

With each passing day, I worried whether Haerin had given up on the idea of helping me with a plan. Or worse, what if Minji sent some men and they did something to her?

All these questions flooded my mind.

"Mrs. Kim," Ms. Myoui called me.

For a minute, I had completely forgotten that I was here for a parent-teacher meeting. Seokmin received a call from the teacher and kindly passed on the message.

The teacher had something to tell me about Daehan.

With her well-manicured nails, she pulled out a paper and placed it on the table. Ms. Myoui's eyes were scrutinizing me.

"Mrs. Kim, I have no right to interfere in your personal life, but when it comes to one of my students, I must intervene."

"I understand," I nodded, my fingers intertwined and rested my hands on my lap. "Did Daehan do something?"

I was nervous about what the teacher might say about Daehan.

What if she said Daehan was violent with other children?

What if he was becoming like Minji?

I couldn't bear the thought of Daehan doing something like that.

"Daehan isn't very sociable in class, doesn't answer questions, and mostly likes to stay silent. It's a bit disturbing to see him behave this way. Mrs. Kim, with all due respect, I have reason to believe it stems from some problems at home."

I hated how Ms. Myoui was analyzing me. "I will talk to Daehan about this."

"I was hoping Mrs. Kim would also be here so we could discuss this together."

The teacher wasn't going to let this end so easily.

"I'm afraid she'll be late, so it'll just be me."

"Oh, that's fine. I can wait," she smiled.

I tried to find a better excuse, decided to fake a call to Minji asking where she was, and then lied to Ms. Myoui that Minji wasn't coming.

Before I could do that, a tall figure entered the room.

It was Haerin.

I was surprised to see her here.

She was dressed to impress as usual, the Kims seemed to have a knack for style and appearance.

She wore a navy blue blazer and a white V-neck blouse, her hair neatly styled.

What was Haerin doing here?

"Sorry I'm late, there was an important meeting," Haerin said to me, then turned to the teacher and offered a handshake, which she accepted.

The teacher had apparently lost her ability to speak. I couldn't blame her, Haerin tended to have that effect on people, whether men or women.

"It's good to have you here, Mrs. Kim. I'm Myoui Mina, Daehan's teacher," Ms. Myoui said. "It's about your son."

"Oh, I'm not his mother. I'm Daehan's aunt."

Ms. Myoui shrugged. "I see."

"I'm afraid Minji can't come," Haerin clarified, and her expressions suddenly turned sad. "You know it's because of her illness." Ms. Myoui seemed confused, and I knew my expressions matched hers.

What the hell was Haerin talking about?

"Sorry, I wasn't aware of that."

Haerin sighed and looked at me. "You never told the teacher, Hanni?"
