AFTER A WHILE OF DANCING AND CELEBRATING MY PHONE BUZZED IN MY POCKET, and so I walked away from the dance floor to look at it.

I spotted Childe speaking with his friends and he approached me slowly.

"When are we going to your place? Text me when you're ready." he slid his arm around my waist and I froze up, feeling uneasy over my previous fight with Scaramouche.

"I'll make sure of it...it's just that my...friend...is keeping me behind, sorry." I looked away guiltily when I had to refer to Scaramouche as simply my friend and nothing more.

"I have all night, sweetheart." Childe brought his face closer to mine.

I ran back to Scaramouche and found him chatting with Xiao, which made me crumble internally.

"Oh, Y/n, I was looking for you," he called out to me as I approached them.

"Just went to go answer a phone call." I chuckled nervously.

"Anyway, this is my girl. I'm sure you know her." Scaramouche put his arm around me, and normally I would be very happy with this. However, right now I am the furthest thing from being at ease since I am standing in front of the guy I have been living with for almost a month and not a single person is aware of it except Xiao and I.

"Oh I know her, we go to the same college." Xiao played it off causally.

"You're quite popular aren't you?" Scaramouche nudged me with a smirk and I let out a pathetic laugh.

"I wouldn't say so..." I smiled weakly.

"She was dating my friend, Zhongli." Xiao actively tried to cover up for me.

"Oh, you're friends with Zhongli?" Scaramouche seemed shocked.

"Yeah, anyway I'll see you around. See you later Y/n." Xiao walked away and waved me goodbye.

"See you later? What does he mean by that?" Scaramouche furrowed his eyebrows.

"Well we live in the same town, we run into each other a lot." I came up with an answer on the spot.

"Yeah but he said to me that he'd see me around, and he said to you that he'd see you later." he was looking into it to the point where it irritated me and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I don't know, Scara." I sighed.

"Anyway, I have to meet up with family for the rest of the night." he patted my back.

"Oh, so you're leaving now?" I faked a frown.

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow or something." he squeezed my hand.

"Alright, goodbye, love you." I gave him a peck on the lips and he began walking away.

"Love you too." was the last audible thing I heard from him.

After he was out of sight, I pulled my phone out and texted Childe so he could meet me outside of the main dance floor.

He reacted to the message and that gave me the go-ahead to make my next move and leave the dance floor.

I spotted him standing by himself and I caught up to him while keeping an eye out for Scaramouche.

"Ready to take me to your place?" Childe said with a smirk as he towered above me.

"Yeah, it's just..." I looked around nervously.

"What?" he asked.

"I'm actually talking to Scaramouche." I scratched the back of my head with a chuckle.

"Shit, he's my friend, you know that?" Childe looked stressed out.

"Yeah, we had a huge fight over you before the countdown." I admitted.

"That isn't good for me. He'd probably smash my face inwards if I hooked up with his girl." he seemed genuinely worried.

"Good thing he's not going to know." I took his hand and began leading him to my house.

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" he stopped and made me face him.

"We're in this deep, no point turning back." I laughed and kept walking with him.
