Jaylen: mmm
He began to come around
Lena: hey kiddo
Jaylen: hurts
Lena: I know buddy I know
Dr G walked in
Dr G: nice to see you awake. How you feeling?
Jaylen: it hurts. It really hurts
Dr G: I can give you something for the pain and it will begin to feel better
Jaylen: okay
Dr G: the splint will be taken off and we'll put a cast on
Jaylen: I don't like it I want it off
Dr G: we can't take it off just yet
Jaylen: please I don't like it. It's scratchy and it hurts
Dr G: I can't take it off just yet okay
He tried to take it off and the doctor stopped him.
Dr G: how about if you can keep it on for the whole movie you can pick the colour of your cast?
Jaylen: okay
He watched a movie and fell asleep.
Lena: I'm sorry about the trouble. He seems to have some sensory issues
Dr G: it's fine honestly. We see this most of the time especially with neurodivergent kids
After a while he woke up again.
The doctor came in to change his cast
Dr G: what colour we thinking of Jaylen?
Jaylen: erm red
Dr G: Arsenal?
Jaylen: Best team in the world
Dr G: this is gonna feel abit cold and slightly uncomfortable. Tell me if it gets too much
Jaylen: okay
He started doing the cast and I could see it was becoming a bit much for Jaylen.
Lena: it's nearly done okay
Jaylen: I don't like it. Take it off
Lena: you need it to make your arm all better
Jaylen: I don't want it
Lena: you get it on and we can stop at McDonald's
Jaylen: really?
Lena: yep
He calmed down and the cast was finally fitted.
Dr G: the next appointment will be every 6 weeks where we will check the healing process
Jaylen: can I go?
Lena: Jaylen
Jaylen: i wanna go home
Dr G: you're free to go
We left and went to the car.
Lena: you know what you want from McDonalds
Jaylen: just a strawberry milkshake
Lena: okay
We went to the drive thru and I got his strawberry milkshake and went home.
Jaylen: can I still go to soccer?
Lena: no you can't do any physical activity for at lease 6 weeks
Jaylen: that's boring
Lena: I know but you need to rest so it doesn't get worse. The break was bad enough it needed surgery
Jaylen: I guess
We arrived home and Jaylen just went straight to his room
Stef: how is he?
Lena: he's alright. He's finding the cast irritating but I guess that's a sensory thing. We're gonna have to find things he can do because he can't do any sports for at least 6 weeks. We need to find something where he can still be active but not use his arm
Stef: okay
Lena: where is everyone?
Stef: Brandon has piano, Jesus has wrestling, Mariana is with Lexi, Jude is at Connor's and Callie is with Wyatt
Lena: that explains why it's so quiet

Jaylen pov
I FaceTimed Kelly
Kelly: Jaylen?
Jaylen: Kelly?
Kelly: what's up?
I showed him the cast
Kelly: what the hell happened?
Jaylen: soccer
Kelly: damn Jaylen
Jaylen: I even had to get surgery because it was bad
Kelly: I think we should wrap you in bubble wrap
Jaylen: ha ha. Have I missed anything?
Kelly: not really no
Jaylen: what's happening with the funeral?
Kelly: it's been approved and now we're just putting things in place
Jaylen: any idea when?
Kelly: in a couple weeks
Jaylen: okay
Kelly: I'll ring you with a confirmed date. Is there anything you want me to include?
Jaylen: a slideshow with photos
Kelly: okay any photos specifically?
Jaylen: just any with mom and dad in it
Kelly: okay I'll call you soon okay
Jaylen: okay

I went downstairs
Stef: you want anything to eat?
Jaylen: no thank I feel sick
Lena: it's probably a side effect of all the medication you were given
Jaylen: I'll have something later. Am I going school tomorrow?
Stef: we'll see how you are
Jaylen: okay. Can i have some painkillers?
Lena: it still hurting?
Jaylen: mhm
Lena: what does it feel like?
Jaylen: someone poured boiling water over it
Stef passed me some painkillers
Lena: I'm gonna grab your prescription from the pharmacy. They should help with the pain more
