Jaylen pov
Miss Greene: who's the lady?
Jaylen: that's Lena my foster mom.
Miss Greene: how is it?
Jaylen: it's okay. The school is on a beach
Miss Greene: that's cool
Jaylen: I guess
Miss Greene: what's the family like?
Jaylen: they're okay. Lena and Stef are cool but I don't really get along with Stef
Miss Greene: is there a reason?
Jaylen: not really it's just she's a cop. She could die any day and I can't go through that hurt again. Not getting attached will prevent that hurt.
Miss Greene: I understand what you're saying but you won't be giving yourself a chance cause you're just gonna be focused on pushing Stef away. The house will never feel like family and soon enough everyone in the house will pick up on that awkward atmosphere. Give it a chance. San Diego is way safer than Chicago
We made my food and milkshakes. Miss Greene carried the milkshakes and I carried the food. I took it to the table. I had Pancakes with syrup and whipped cream topped with strawberries and blueberries which were separate from the pancakes.
and a strawberry milkshake. As well as the apple crumble which Jay had half of.
Jaylen: you really piss me off when you do that
Jay: what?
Jaylen: say you're not hungry then when I get my food you think you can take what you want
Jay: you're really gonna eat all of this?
Jaylen: I wouldn't have ordered it if I wasn't dumbass
Miss Greene: Jaylen
Jaylen: my bad.
Miss Greene went to serve other customers
Jaylen: so where's Kelly?
Jay: he's on shift. I didn't tell him you were coming down. You wanna surprise him?
Jaylen: yeah!
Jay: shut up and eat your food then fatty
Miss Greene: Jay be nice
Jaylen: yeah Jay you fat bastard
He lightly punched me in the arm
Jaylen: you're so lucky I can't punch you back
I finished my food and took my plates to the back and put them in the dishwasher
Jaylen: bye miss Greene
Miss Greene: see you later Jaylen. Remember what we talked about.
I gave her a hug. We left and got in jays car before going to the firehouse.

As soon as the car stopped I ran inside. Jay ran after me and Lena trailed behind. Jay had his phone out recording. Kelly was sat in the kitchen.
Jaylen: what's with the long face lieutenant Severide?
He turned around
Kelly: Jaylen!
Jaylen: hi Kel
He jumped out it his seat
Kelly: oh my God when did you get here?
Jaylen: a couple hours ago
Kelly: oh my God I've missed you
He pulled me in for a hug squeezing me
Jaylen: ah kelly my arm
He let go
Kelly: you broke your arm?
Jaylen: soccer
He looked at Lena
Kelly: hi Lena
Lena: hi Kelly
Kelly pulled me out of the kitchen. We went to his quarters and I sat on his bunk
Kelly: how is it?
Jaylen: it's okay. It's not Chicago but it's okay.
Kelly: they good to you?
Jaylen: too good to me. I'm starting to like it there but then I distance myself. What if it's too good to be true? What if Bill take me away and I go to a horrible home?
Kelly: you can't let yourself think like that. What if bill doesn't take you away and you stay there until you're 18 or even if you choose to stay there? What if living with them gives you better opportunities than you'd get here in Chicago? Let's be real you were so close to being kicked out of school and where would that have left you?
Jaylen: getting in with the wrong crowd
Kelly: you need to think about the future.
Jaylen: I know
Kelly: have you seen Shay yet?
Jaylen: No not yet
Kelly: she misses you. She doesn't have her partner in crime. Shall we go see her?
Jaylen: yeah sure
We walked through the firehouse looking for shay. She was sorting out inventory
Jaylen: do you ever give yourself a break?
She looked up
Shay: Jaylen?
Jaylen: hi Shay
She gave me a hug
Shay: how long you here for?
Jaylen: a few days. I'm going back the day after the funeral.
Shay: oh my god I've missed you so much. Its so boring without you
Jaylen: I missed you too.
Shay: how you finding it?
Jaylen: it's okay.
Shay: what happened to your arm?
Jaylen: I broke it playing soccer
Shay: did kelly tell you that he cried?
Kelly: no I didn't
Jaylen: ah Kelly you big softie
Kelly: I didn't cry
Shay: it was so emotional. He cried most of the day
Kelly: Shay
Jaylen: Kelly's actually a human
Shay: how about we go to the mall?
Kelly: have you got a suit?
Jaylen: I don't know. I think so but I don't know if it still fits

We went to the mall and they bought me a suit and some black trainers.
Jaylen: I'm not wearing the tie
Shay: that's okay
We went back to the firehouse.
Lena: everything sorted?
Jaylen: yeah

Lena pov
Lena: Jaylen we should head off. We need to find a hotel
Kelly: you're more than welcome to stay with me and Jay
Jaylen: you moved in together?
Kelly: yep
Jaylen: can we stay?
Lena: if it won't be any trouble
Kelly: don't be silly
Jaylen was running around.
Lena: Jaylen calm down
Kelly: has he taken his meds?
Lena: I gave them to him but I have a feeling he spat them out
We heard a massive thud. Jaylen walked in rubbing his head
Jaylen: I ran into the wall
Kelly: dumbass
Lena: can we calm it down now Jaylen unless you want another trip to the hospital?
Jaylen: no thanks
He ran off again. We heard another thud but this time he didn't come running in. We went outside and he was on the floor seizing. We all ran over to him and I took my jumper and put it under his head whilst Kelly timed it
Jay: for fuck sake Jaylen. Kelly time?
Kelly: 3 and a half
The seizure didn't look like it was slowing down
Kelly: Shay! Dawson! One of you! Anyone!
Shay came running. Jaylen had now reached 5. She ran back in and gave him some diazepam and it began to slow.
Kelly: Lena take these keys and take him back to mine
Lena: are you sure?
Kelly: yeah
Lena: can one of you carry him?
