Light Unbridled- Chapter 78: Reunion Part 3

*The scene opens with Rob and the group entering a pitch black room. Everyone but Rob looks around confused by where they are.*

Ozzy: This is the lair?

*Footsteps begin to echo through the room causing the group to all become defensive. Soon the footsteps stop entirely and are replaced with a loud female voice.*

Mother: Hello Boys.

*The voice sends shivers down the group's spines as they summon their stands.*

Mother: Oh calm down. Those won't be necessary.

*Rob steps forward away from the group and begins walking towards the voice.*

Rob: I brought them just like you asked, Mother.

Mother: I see that. But there seems to be two missing. Where are they?

Rob: Unfortunately Ryan and Zack died before me and Jonte made it to them.

Mother: And how did that happen?

*Isaiah steps forwards and aggressively confronts the mysterious voice.*

Isaiah: Don't act stupid! One of your people made Ryan lose himself!

*Rob realizes the growing hostility and decides to leave the lair while the group continues their discussion with Mother.*

Mother: Is that so? How do you mean dear boy?

Isaiah: Don't call me that! Ryan started forgetting things, misremembering things. That isn't like him at all! Tell me who the hell did it! I'll kill them personally.

*Mother doesn't respond and instead remains silent for a long period of time, seemingly thinking to herself, before she realizes what happened.*

Mother: Oh dear. I am so sorry boys.

Bryce: Sorry? Our friends are dead because of you and your little cult and you're sorry?

Mother: Your friend, Ryan, did he suffer any serious head injuries before he died?

*Ozzy thinks back to when Ryan was hit by Bryce's laser at the mall before stepping closer to the voice.*

Ozzy: He was shot in the head by Bryce's laser.

Mother: Then that would explain it.

Bryce: What? No! I'm not responsible for Ryan losing himself! Zack rewinded him!

Mother: That's not what I'm saying, Bryce. I'm not sure if any of you will remember her name, but Lydia planted her stand in all of you at the hospital.

Bryce: Lydia? Lydia! That name. I recognize it. You said at the hospital? Was that the lady pretending to be Penrose's assistant?

Mother: It would seem her stand is starting to lose its effect on you, but yes.

Andrew: What are you trying to tell us exactly?

Mother: Lydia's stand works by slowly removing memories from people. She can remove specific memories when she is near the person. But if she isn't, the stand simply removes recent memories.

Hayden: But Ryan didn't just forget memories. He remembered things completely differently too.

Mother: Indeed. Any severe mental trauma accelerates Lydia's stand. Ryan began losing his memories faster than all of you because of Bryce's laser. And his mind tried to fill in those lost memories but could only piece together fractured ones.

Ozzy: So what you're saying is that all of us will just keep forgetting things? Tell that Lydia woman to remove her stand from our minds!

Mother: I can't. Unfortunately her stand doesn't work like that. But no, eventually her stand will lose all its power within you and will dissipate.
