Addison's POV:

The Horizon Library has twelve major sections of the building, each with a unique purpose that some of us take for granted.

Obviously we have the Labyrinth, which is basically a maze of knowledge only I can navigate through like the back of my hand.

Then there's the Weeping Willow, the center of the library that holds my little hideout platform.

The entrance to Marshall's forge is located in the very far back of the library, reinforced with stone and kept safely away from the books to reduce the risk of setting the place on fire.

This was all only the first floor, though; A fourth of the twelve major locations.

The Horizon Library has a second and third floor, only accessible by flight, the grand staircase, or if you're like Tia, "extreme" parkour.

She calls ladders extreme.

Just in front of the marble staircase, you get a direct path to the outdoor balcony, which extends off of the floating island so you can see the clouds below.

To the left, there's a pathway that leads to my office, also known as my bedroom. When you're in a place of eternal nighttime like Lunarift, you never know when you need a power nap.

To the right, the hallway extends into a large study hall, perfect for those windy nights when you want to sit back and read a book or two in the largest sweater you have.

Around the perimeter of the library, the second floor borders the walls to create a circular bridge,
mainly to assist in reaching the ceiling-high bookshelves embedded in the walls.

However, my favorite part about the second floor is the Archives.

It's basically this room with ancient bookshelves for the walls- A place where I can put my all-time favorite books and admire past series I've read.

One of the walls is just this massive sheet of glass that lets me look out into the courtyard: The outdoor willow tree sitting by the unending creek.

I like to admire the moonflowers on the ground from a distance, because I'm suspecting that I might be allergic to pollen.

I was sitting down in the Archives, joined by Tia and Marshall over a cup of our favorite beverages.

We were discussing plans for the next few weeks, with the Great War in mind and the current situation Tia had gotten herself into.

"Listen, listen," Marshall began, putting a hand on his forehead. "Are you still being pursued? Like, are you not being charged with anything, or?"

Tia shook her head, taking a sip of cold water from her canteen. "Yes, and no. King Arthur warned the Northwynd government to let me off the case, and they did. Word will come out in a few days via scroll that I've been pardoned by the king from my heinous crimes."

"Did you bribe the king, somehow?" I asked skeptically, stirring my cup of boba tea with a straw. "Because if you did, I'd be impressed."

"Nope, but I did something better." Tia grinned, leaning against the glass wall. "King Arthur offered me official residence in the Northwynd kingdom palace, under the circumstances that I would be kept a secret."

Marshall gave her the side eye. "I wonder why he's being so nice to you..."

The captain raised her hands in surrender. "Woah, woah, woah. Don't jump to conclusions, Marsh. He's the reason why I can fight better than his skeleton of a failed heir."

I blinked at her. "Are you implying that...?"

"Yes," Tia replied, pausing for a moment to contemplate her next words. "King Arthur is my new mentor."
