Sophii's POV:

After we saw Edward get sent to the infirmary after the spell had seemingly failed, the four of us were sent to a guest room.

Addison and Marshall shared a bunk bed while I had a mattress to myself, and Tia just sat on the floor beside me.

Even though she knew very well she could run to her own room and take a nap, she decided to stay with us.

"That wasn't just me, right?" Addison began, laying down on the lower bunk with a book in one hand. "You saw the major spell-casting flaw that Permafrost performed?"

"No, because I don't cast spells." Marshall yawned, tucking his wings in and rolling onto the fireproof bedsheets that were prepared for him. "But tell me about it, I'll try not to fall asleep..."

"It's only just after moonset, there's no way you're already sleepy!" The librarian protested, letting out an exasperated groan as she heard her counterpart already dozing off. "Whatever, lemme just rant to the wall, then..."

"I'm listening," The blacksmith yawned, grabbing a pillow and resting his head against it. "Your voice is just very comforting after a long day of flying around."

"Aww, thanks." Addison smiled. "Fine, as long as I lull you to sleep, I'll talk. Or..."

She leaned over, scooping me into her arms and continuing to talk.

"Permafrost performed the spell in the incorrect order," She sighed, scratching the good spot between my ears with her fingers. "She's probably an amateur because her stance is slightly off, too. You have to control the spell, not the spell control you. Y'know what I mean?"

I gave her a quiet prip in reply to show her that I was listening.

"Exactly, you get me, Sophii!" The librarian chuckled, gently tapping me on the nose. "You're the perfect listener. Quiet, patient, and best of all, awake."

"I'm still conscious," Marshall mumbled, one of his arms dangling over the edge of the top bunk. "Carry on, Addi..."

I batted at his glove with one extended paw, meowing at him.

"Leave him be," Addison said, pulling me away from him and onto the bed where she sat on. "Anyways, because Permafrost led the spell with her magic overly channeled into it, Whitecap and Beluga couldn't incorporate theirs into the mix as well... Therefore, if we have any mistakes, we can only blame Permafrost."

I gave her a nod, eyeing Marshall's loose glove.

She seemed to notice what I was interested in. "Are you bored, Sophii?"

"A little," I meowed, sitting neatly on my haunches. "Can we do something other than sit here and rest? I have a ton of energy in my paws since you guys keep carrying me around."

"Go outside for a little bit and explore the castle, then." The librarian smiled, reaching over and unlocking the door. "You go blow off some steam and I'll read a book. Come back when you're done exploring."

The moment the crack between this room and the rest of the castle was wide open, I shot out the door, bounding away into the labyrinth of halls.

Keeping close to the shadows, I picked up a whiff of Tia's crisp, saltwater scent, and followed it.

Not to my surprise, I ended up bumping into King Arthur's room, with the door closed.

I pricked up my ears, listening in through the walls.

They were mixing something... Mac n' cheese?

Yes, mac n' cheese exists in Lunarift. No, I have not tried it before because Marshall wouldn't let me have a taste of some of his.
