Tia's POV:

I was running out of time.

Silently slipping along the levitating pillars, I remembered what Arthur used to tell me.

"Knowing your enemy is half the battle, so play it smart and map out the situation."

Boy, was he right.

I scaled the walls of each floating column, finding grooves in the ruins that I used to propel myself to the top.

I needed a good viewing point to get a grasp of the situation.

Once I was at the top, I stared down at the mass of ivy below, a stream of thoughts flowing through my head.

It's resistant to fire, Marshall and his wings are useless. Addison might not use her magic; Let's assume she doesn't. Edward's a pain in the butt and all he does is make things like this worse. Sophii's a cat. She's trying her best.

I knew that I could do something, but I had to formulate a strategy... However, in the time I had, maybe it wasn't the best idea to think stagnantly.

If there was something Arthur taught me to harness, it was a hidden ability that I knew I had, but never learned how to properly handle.

Frostbreathing.

Two forms: The classic "achoo", and liquidation.

In English, that means I either blast them in the face with a mouthful of icy death, or effectively freeze the water in or around my opponent.

Pretty cool, right? Pun intended, no time to laugh.

I quietly launched myself off of the top of the platform, visualizing a battle plan and preparing my next moves.

If it's resistant to fire, I'll try my frostbreath and see if that works.

I slammed into an ivy-covered pillar, digging into the plant with my sailor boots and hanging on with one hand, thrusting myself upward to reach the edge of the top.

Addison and Marshall were completely surrounded by the ivy, which had grouped up and taken the form of a serpent.

The blacksmith was protecting her with his wings, blasting fire into the plant... Which ended up being completely ineffective other than burning a couple leaves.

It seemed that only the tendrils themselves were fireproof, then.

Let's see how they fare against ice.

I tensed up, preparing to spring at the creature from a couple stories in the air.

Frostbreath flowed into the back of my throat, charging up for when I needed to use it.

Finally, an opportunity to let out my pent-up rage AND prove that I learned something from Arthur!

I let out my fiercest battle cry, effectively startling the leafy beast into lowering its guard.

Bounding off of the platform, I blasted an icy, liquid stream of frostbreath directly into the "mouth" of the cobra, watching as the plants withered away on contact.

It tried to lunge at me, missing me entirely and hitting itself against the glass dome.

Hissing angrily, the ivy coiled up, its body threatening to constrict both Addison and Marshall.

Arthur always taught me how to attack and defend, not to rescue.

This was bad... And it's about to get even worse.

The cobra was using them as a living shield; If I attacked it with my frostbreath, there would be a chance that I would hurt my friends, too.

I knew I was accurate with my offensive moves, but I felt a twinge of doubt about my abilities.
