Edward's POV:
After waking up from a long nap, I rose from my spot in the Archives, crept past a snoozing Marshall, snuck around a knocked-out Sophii, and went for a quick walk to get the blood flowing through my legs.
As I made the hike up the grand staircase leading up to the second floor, I paused in my tracks- Taunting.
Specifically degrading taunts.
I almost fainted on the spot when I saw my half brother down on his knees before Tia.
Dried blood stained the stone where I assumed a fight had taken place, but to my surprise, none of it was blue.
Blackthorne was whimpering something inaudible as the captain angrily lashed her tail against the ground, seeming agitated.
I quickly made my way up the rest of the stairs and hid behind a corner, wrapping myself up in my royal robes to stay under the radar.
Tia sighed, keeping her eyes on who I assumed was her new prisoner-plaything. "Come out, you nosy prince. I've got your lame excuse of a half-brother here... Broke the first rule of war: Don't trust an enemy."
Startled by how she managed to sense my presence, I slowly peeked out from behind the pillar I was hiding behind, stepping out into the moonlight of the open balcony.
She silently turned to face me, holding both her RipTrident as well as a menacing obsidian scythe. "You."
Her tail flukes swept into a protective arc around her bloodstained boots as she eyed me closely. "Did you have anything to do with this?"
I stifled a gulp. "Anything to do with what?"
The captain rolled her eyes. "The disappearance of Lunarift's sun, obviously."
"I didn't do anything about that, I wasn't even alive!" I protested, her jest flying over my head.
She groaned, throwing her RipTrident and nearly missing my neck. "Of course not, idiot! I'm talking about your narwhal of a sibling right here."
At this point, I genuinely thought she had purposefully missed me to give me a chance to redeem myself, but I didn't want to say it out loud for my life's sake.
Blackthorne groaned. "I shouldn't have come here..."
"Yeah, you're right." Tia growled, slapping her tail flukes against the cold, hard stone. "Edward, since you're the lucky witness, I'm gonna have to bring you both to Northwynd. Arthur's gonna hear about this."
"But I didn't do anything wrong." I argued, adjusting the tiny golden crown on my head. "Plus, uh, I'm his son. He won't be mad at me."
She let out a hiss of frustration, giving me a piercing glare. "I never said you did anything wrong! I'm just taking you with me, you insolent beluga. Now shut up and get down on ground level. We're heading home."
Before taking her eyes off of me, she swung the scythe in her hand to the side, forcing Blackthorne upwards to look at her.
"Don't do something you'll regret."

After a couple hours of sailing and some lucky fast wind, Tia brought us both from
Northwynd's harbor to the Silverstorm Palace.
