While waiting for Ilay, I sat with Spencer, as I devoured some beef jerky. Spencer smiled at me. "You said you had something you wanted to tell me. So....are you confessing your feelings for me now?". He asked.

I chuckled. "You're so unserious". I said, laughing.

I eventually told him about my pregnancy, and about Ilay and the contract I signed with his father. Spencer didn't like any bit of what I had told him.

"River, are you sure this is what you want? You're selling your flesh and blood for money? Not just that, you're selling yourself too. I don't think that jerk would ever love you". Spencer said, expressing his disapproval.

"I have a better idea. Why don't you refuse them, and come live with me? I'll care for you and the baby like it's mine. You don't have to do this". He said.

"Relax Spencer. At the end of the day, the child still has Ilay's blood running through its veins. We can't keep him away from his child". I told him.

"Also....I know he'd never love me. He already told me he has a fiancee, so I don't have any other thoughts towards him. He's just the father of my child". I said.

Spencer remained silent. I knew he was pissed, but he didn't say anything. In a few minutes, Ilay walked into the café. He took a seat next to me.

He gently placed the lunch box on the table and smiled at me. I smiled back awkwardly. "Uh....Ilay, this is Spencer, my friend and Spencer, this is Ilay, my....baby daddy". I said, as I started down at the table.

Ilay stretched out his hand towards Spencer. "Hi, Spencer. Thanks for helping me look after her". He said.

Spencer scoffed. "Helping you? I look after her because I want to. It got nothing to do with you. Wasn't hoping to meet you this soon". Spencer said to him.

I pulled the lunch box to myself, and dug in, ignoring the tension between the two men beside me. I opened the box, and the aroma of the food filled the air.

Patricia had made grilled wagyu beef and chicken salad, with garlic bread, some cheese and a side of brown rice. She had also sliced up some fruits as a snack. If Patricia kept feeding me such delicious food, there was no way I wouldn't gain weight.

I choked on the food while devouring it, and surprisingly, Ilay quickly patted my back while handing me a glass of water. "You should eat slowly. Don't hurt yourself". He said.

I sipped some of the water and blinked my teary eyes at him. "Did this guy hit his head? Why's he being so nice? I expected him to say something like, "No one is dragging the food away from you. You can die but don't hurt my child". His reaction was so unexpected". I thought.

"So how did you two meet?". Spencer suddenly asked Ilay.

"I don't think that's important. All that matters is that she's mine now". Ilay responded.

"You asshole! You think she's a commodity? She's not yours. You can't get whatever you want just because you're rich. You don't know a thing about her. What's her favorite color? What's her favorite food? You know nothing. I've been with her and liked her since highschool". Spencer replied.

"Well....that's a cute highschool crush story, but River is pregnant with my child now. That means you lost and I won. That makes her mine". Ilay said.

I have no idea why they're even arguing about this right now. And why did I have to listen to all of this?

I saw Spencer bite down hard on his lip in anger. "It's not a competition, you jerk! Alright. Let's say you won this time. But if you ever hurt River, I'd kick your wealthy ass so bad, you'd beg to be dead". He said through gritted teeth.

"Let me tell you, you've lost already, because that's never gonna happen". Ilay replied.

"Oh really? But you already have a fiancée, so you want to fuck both- ".

I slapped my hand on the table, cutting Spencer off. "That's enough! You both are embarrassing me. Everyone here right now can hear the nonsense you both are saying". I said to them.

I got up, packed up my lunch, picked up my bag and grabbed Ilay's hand. "Let's go home Ilay. I'll see you later at college Spencer". I said, as I pulled Ilay out of the café and to the car.

Thanks for sticking with me this far guys. Love y'all from the heart of my bottom ♡
