The moment we got into the car, River heaved a sigh of relief. I glared at her, and grabbed her neck, squeezing tightly.
"You're carrying my child, and going around on stupid dates with other men huh?". I said.
She slapped me hard across the face. I was a bit taken aback by the strength in that slap.
"Get your hands off me! H- He's....my friend from....highschool. And why does it matter to you if we were on a date? I'm not yours anyways". she said angrily.
I slowly let go of her. "For as long as my child is inside you, you're mine. You're not allowed to dirty my child with your slutry". I said.
I regretted those words as soon as they came out of my mouth. "What the heck have I done? I'm so stupid". I scolded myself.
Tears welled up in her eyes slowly. The next moment, she opened the door and got out of the car. She started walking away, and I instinctively ran after her.
"Hey, River! River! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that". I said as I caught up with her. She quickly wiped the tears on her cheeks. "I'm so sorry River I didn't mean to say such hurtful words". I said as I quickly pulled her in for a hug.
"Sometimes I speak without thinking. I'm such an idiot. You can hit me if it makes you feel better". I said.
"It's fine. I don't want to hit you. Maybe you were right. I did sleep with a guy I never knew, got pregnant with his child and I still walk around with my head held high. Maybe I am a- ".
I lowered my head, and shut her up with a kiss. She hesitated for a bit, then she slowly relaxed and let me kiss her.
"If anyone here is a slut, then that's me. Before I met you, I used to date a new girl every week, no strings attached. I just wanted to fuck. I can't count how many girls I've been with". I said sincerely.
She looked up at me. Her eyes still teary.
I gently wiped the tears on her cheek. "I know now that there's more to that night at the hotel than what I heard, so I won't judge you anymore until I find out the truth. So please don't ever degrade yourself in front of me again". I told her.
I kissed her again. "I'll be a better person from now on. I promise. Let's go home now - you must be tired". I said.
She nodded, and walked back to the car with me. She fell asleep as we drove back home. I gently carried her up to her room when we got home.
I gently placed her on the bed and pulled the covers over her, then I pecked her lips. Her lips were soft and warm. I couldn't help but want to keep kissing her.
I returned to my room. I had some work to finish on my laptop, so I stayed in my room for the rest of the day. I got tired and went downstairs for a snack. Then I started chatting with Patricia.
River came downstairs. "You're awake". I asked. She nodded. "You slept for quite a while. You must've been really tired". Patricia said.
"Yeah I was. I get tired easily these days. Can I get something to eat?". She asked Patricia.
Patricia chuckled. "Of course. Dinner is almost ready, so you can just have a snack for now. I'll get it for you. Take a sit in the living room". She said.
"P- Patricia made the crackers herself. Try some. Sorry it's my first time looking after someone besides myself. I feel a little awkward". I said.
She smiled at me sweetly. My heart skipped a beat. She was so beautiful. "You don't have to do it yourself. Patricia can do it". I said.
"I can't let Patricia do everything. I'm the child's father. I have to support". I said and smiled back. I went back to the kitchen, grabbed my snacks and went back to my room.
