a/n really long chapter and a lot happens, so comment a lot, please and thank you :)
"baby," saylor cooed. "come on, wake up."
i let out a relaxed and content sigh as she briefly cupped my cheek, then moved her hand to run it through my hair and move my hair out of my face. i let out a small "mhm," though i made no attempt to even open my eyes. she giggled quietly.
"please, wake up? i wanna show you around," she murmured with a slight whine in her voice. "i wanna show you my favorite breakfast place ever, so you have to get up."
i squinted my eyes open. "better than the places i've shown you?" i mumbled tiredly.
she quickly nodded. i sent her a look. "we'll have to see about that," i teased lightly. i draped my forearm over my mouth as i yawned.
eventually, i fully opened my eyes, and i took in her appearance. my eyes widened slightly. "goodmorning, gorgeous," i finally gave her an actual greeting. "you look pretty this morning."
"thank you," her face flushed ever so slightly. she gave a smile. "goodmorning, lovey."
i sat up, though i immediately laid my head on her shoulder. i couldn't help but to yawn again. "i couldn't get to sleep without you last night; i tossed and turned for hours trying to fall asleep."
"awh, baby," she pouted. "i'm sorry. as far as i'm aware though, you won't have to sleep without me again any time soon."
"good," i sighed. i then turned to look at her. "how did the talk go with your parents?"
she let out a sigh of her own. "well, we all cried," she gave an awkward look. "but they told me that they understood why i didn't tell them about the night that arlo left, that they don't blame me, and that it wasn't my fault."
i can't imagine how relieving it was for her to hear that.
"it wasn't," i agreed. i interlaced our fingers. "i'm glad though, my love."
she sent a small smile. i kissed her forehead before i stood up to go get ready for the day. after i brushed my teeth and fixed my hair, i stared at the clothes that i had packed. i turned to saylor. "i'm meeting your parents tonight, right?"
"yep," she gave a small grin. "they're making dinner; they're actually really excited to meet you."
"for real?" my eyes widened slightly. she nodded. i was already starting to get nervous, but i pushed it away for now. "do you want to help pick out my outfit then?" i gave an innocent smile. she giggled before she came over to help do so.

after saylor took me out to breakfast at her favorite breakfast place, which i will admit had some really good food, she started to show me around henderson. she showed me her favorite places she went to when she was younger, as well as her favorite hangout spots when she was in high school.
she showed me where her and miguel had snuck off to one night to get drunk. she told me how she remembers barely drinking any, but had drank it so fast that she ended up throwing up. she joked that it traumatized her so much that she didn't drink again for at least a year.
she also showed me around some of her favorite places to just be and look around. we stayed in those places longer than the rest, because they were honestly really peaceful. they were pretty too.
eventually though, it was time for us to go to her childhood home so that i could meet her parents. i'm honestly really nervous.
i don't even think i've really met any of my friends' parents, at least not since i was a teenager, so how the fuck am i going to handle meeting my girlfriend's parents?!
