We were up first, and we would be defending as villains against Midoriya and Uranaka. I could tell that for some reason, Bakugo was not a fan of Midoriya,
I glanced at Bakugo, who was already scowling in concentration. "Alright, Sparky," he said, his voice low. "We've got this."
I nodded. "Let's show them what we can do, Boom Boy."
The signal was given, and the battle began. Bakugo and I quickly moved through the simulated hideout, our senses alert for any signs of the enemy. We had decided on a simple but effective plan: Bakugo would use his explosive power to intercept Midoriya and Uraraka, while I would stay back to guard the missile.
As we moved into position, Bakugo turned to me with a smirk. "I'll blast them to bits. You make sure they don't get anywhere near the missile."
"Got it," I replied, my eyes scanning the area. I felt a surge of adrenaline as I moved swiftly, my training with Aizawa coming into play. I felt a noticeable difference in the way I moved, not realizing that maybe all of that training had begun to pay off.
Bakugo took his position at the front entrance, ready to intercept any intruders. I stationed myself near the missile, listening. The hideout was dimly lit, adding an extra layer of tension to the scenario.
Minutes passed in silence, each second stretching into an eternity. Then, we heard it—a faint sound of footsteps. Bakugo's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Here they come," he muttered, his voice filled with excitement.
Midoriya and Uraraka burst into the room, their movements precise and coordinated. Midoriya charged at Bakugo, who met him head-on with a fierce explosion. "You think you can beat me, Deku?" Bakugo shouted, his voice echoing through the room. "You're nothing compared to me! "
Midoriya gritted his teeth, focusing on countering Bakugo's relentless assault of explosion after explosion, giving him no room to make an attack. "I'm not giving up, Kacchan!" he yelled, his determination unwavering.
Uraraka, meanwhile, attempted to use her Zero Gravity Quirk to disorient me. I dodged to the side, avoiding her touch. "Nice try," I taunted, my voice filled with confidence. I moved quickly, aiming to stay between her and the missile.
"Don't let them get past you, Himari!" Bakugo shouted, his voice filled with intensity.
"I know!" I shot back, my focus unwavering. Uraraka was quick and agile, making it difficult for me to land a hit. "You're pretty good, Uraraka," I admitted, a hint of respect in my voice.
Uraraka smiled, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Thanks, Himari. But I won't let you win!"
My smirk returned. "We'll see about that." I feinted to the left, then swiftly moved to the right, managing to stay between her and the missile. I had to keep her from reaching it at all costs.
Bakugo and Midoriya's battle continued to shake the room, their attacks creating a chaotic symphony of explosions and grunts. Bakugo's sheer force was overwhelming, but Midoriya's strategy and adaptability were impressive.
"Don't lose focus, Sparky!" Bakugo yelled, his voice cutting through the noise.
"I've got this!" I shouted back, dodging another of Uraraka's attempts to make me float. My heart pounded in my chest as I stayed alert, every muscle in my body ready for action.
Just as Uraraka made another move towards the missile, I intercepted her, blocking her path. "Not so fast!" I said. I couldn't afford to let her through.
Midoriya, seeing their plan falling apart, made a desperate attempt to reach me. But Bakugo blocked his path, his eyes blazing with intensity. "Your fight is with me, Deku," he growled, his fists crackling with energy. Midoriya, despite his unassuming look, was someone to fear. I could not take him without my quirk, and Bakugo knew that.
I turned to Uraraka, now cornered, as she tried one last time to reach the missile, but I was ready. I grabbed her arm, pulling her away from the target. "It's over, Uraraka," I said, my voice calm but firm. I went to grab the capture tape. After this, all we had to do was take down Midoriya, and then it would be over.
However, as I held Uraraka, I heard Bakugo's shout turn into a furious roar. "You think you're better than me, Deku? You think you even have a chance against me? No you'll never amount to anything!" he screamed, his anger boiling over. I flinched as he launched a massive explosion, but Midoriya dodged it skillfully. The blast hit the wall, and bits and pieces crumbled to the floor.
Crap. The debris came crashing down on my head, and I was disoriented for a moment, but that was all it took.
Uranaka had taken this moment to twist out my grip, punching me in the nose. "Sorry!" She said instantly.
I reeled back, laughing a bit. Even whenever we were in combat, she was still kind enough to apologize. However, I wasn't going to let her win. I grabbed her ankle, but it was too late. She had already begun to accumulate a good number of debris in the air. With a snap, it rained down on me.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was becoming more and more distracted. I wasn't sure what was going on with him, but his moves were sloppy, and I could see the mistakes being made. If we kept this up, then we were going to lose.
"Bakugo, focus!" I yelled, but he was too far gone, consumed by his rage. He used his quirk to make a giant explosion, aimed directly at Midoriya. The walls began to shake. Uranaka and I looked at each other in panic, taking a moment to look down the hall where Midoriya was.
Midoriya took advantage of Bakugo's lack of control, using this moment to use the fall extent of his quirk. However, Bakugo was ready, winding up yet another explosion. The two charged at each other.
"Uranaka now!" He yelled.
Bakugo's eyes widened as Midoriya punched the wall. A huge chunk coming out. It was five times the size of me.
Uranaka was quick, using the zero gravity on all of the debris. Using the larger piece, she swung, sending all of the debris flying straight at me.
I looked over to Bakugo, and he nodded at me. We would lose if I didn't call in my quirk. This was the moment that counted. Midoriya and Uranaka were about to win, and I could not let that happen.
I was careful, creating a controlled burst of flames as I moved back to use as a smoke barrier. I propelled into the sky after Uranaka, who was making a move towards the missile. I yanked her back, slamming her into the wall. "I am so sorry," I whispered, careful not to burn her, but I knew that would have hurt.
Midoriya was knocked out from the blast that he had done, but it seemed he was still standing. It didn't take much for Bakugo to stop him. I saw him weakly attempt to take Bakugo, but it was too late.
I had managed to bind Uranakas wrists, so she would be unable to use her quirk. Bakugo had also bound Midoriya.
The buzzer sounded, signaling the end of the match. All Might's voice came over the intercom. "Team Todoroki and Bakugo wins," he announced.
I let out a breath I didn't realize I had been holding. I looked over at Bakugo, who was panting slightly from the exertion. "Nice work, Boom Boy," I said, a genuine smile on my face.Bakugo scoffed, but there was a hint of a smile in his eyes. "You weren't so bad yourself, Sparky."
Midoriya and Uraraka got to their feet, their expressions a mix of disappointment and respect. "You guys did great," Midoriya said, offering a hand to me.
I took it, shaking firmly. "So did you, Midoriya. Do it again sometime?"
Uraraka nodded, her usual cheerful smile back in place. "Yeah, we'll get you next time!"
