We watched the rest of the matches after. Shoto won a little too easy. His match was over in minutes. I had to admit, it was pretty impressive the way that he was able to quickly take control of the situation and win.
It was then time to discuss everyone's performance. Once everyone had finished, everyone met to review the outcomes of every battle. My battle would be first, and I was scared of what everyone had to say.
Midoriya, Uraraka, Bakugo, and I returned to our seats, feeling the eyes of our classmates on us. All Might began, "Let's start with Midoriya and Uraraka. What did you all observe?"
Iida raised his hand first. "Midoriya displayed remarkable strategy and adaptability. He managed to keep his composure despite Bakugo's relentless attacks, which is commendable."
Yaoyorozu nodded. "Yes, and Uraraka's use of her Zero Gravity Quirk was very creative. She was quick and coordinated well with Midoriya."
Kirishima chimed in, "But Bakugo's power was overwhelming. Midoriya had a hard time dealing with the sheer force of his explosions since he couldn't use his quirk without injuring himself."
All Might nodded. "Indeed. Bakugo's offensive strength was a significant factor. However, what about Bakugo's performance? Any observations?"
Jiro spoke up, "Bakugo was incredibly aggressive, but his anger seemed to get the best of him. There were moments where he lost focus because he was too fixated on Midoriya and their problems with each other."
Ashido added, "Yeah, he was super powerful, but he needs to control his temper better."
I glanced at Bakugo, who had his fists clenched. He glanced at me, and I swear I saw something like embarrassment in his eyes. However, that was quickly gone.
All Might turned to me. "And what about Himari? How did she contribute to the team's success?"
To my surprise, it was Shoto who spoke up. He glanced my way, a hint of respect in his eyes. "Himari was calm and strategic. She defended the missile effectively and used her quirk in a controlled manner when necessary, but was responsible so that she didn't do too much damage. She proved that things can be done without heavily relying on your quirk."
I gave Shoto a small thankful smile.
Kaminari grinned. "She also worked well with Bakugo, which can't be easy. She kept the team together and focused on the goal." Bakugo glared at Kaminari, opening his mouth to say something.
I stepped on his foot, "Control yourself."
All Might smiled. "Excellent observations. Himari's composure and strategic thinking were indeed crucial. Bakugo, Himari, you managed to secure the win. What do you think was the key to your victory?"
Bakugo crossed his arms, still a bit annoyed. "We were stronger. Simple as that."
I shook my head slightly, unable to resist a bit of sarcasm. "Yeah, sure, Boom Boy, it was all raw power. Nothing to do with, I don't know, having a plan and sticking to it?"
Midoriya, despite his fatigue, smiled. "You did great, Himari. Your defense was solid, and you kept Uraraka and me from reaching the missile."
Uraraka nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you were really tough to get past. And sorry again for punching you!"
I laughed, though it was a bit forced. "No worries, Uraraka. I slammed you into a wall, which makes us even. You did great too."
All Might raised a hand for silence. "Overall, everyone showed impressive skills and growth. However, the MVP of this match is Himari. Her strategic defense, effective use of her quirk, and ability to stay composed under pressure were critical to their victory."
The class clapped, and I felt a burst of pride. "Thank you," I said, trying to hold back my smile, "But if Bakugo hadn't been able to hold off Midoriya for as long as he did, I'm not sure what we would have done."
Bakugo grunted, but I could see a hint of a smile. "Next time, we'll win even faster," he said, his competitive spirit shining through.
All Might concluded, "This was a valuable exercise. Learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses, and continue to grow as heroes. Great work, Class 1-A!"
As the class continued to discuss the match, I felt a knot in my stomach. Being named MVP was great, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I had to keep proving myself. What if this was just a fluke? What if next time I couldn't handle it? I forced a smile, trying to push the doubts away. For now, I just had to focus on getting better and being the hero I wanted to be.
