My breath catches in my throat as I push through the doors out of Ashford Inc.

What's going on with me?

Am I getting ill or something?

I try to slow my breathing, ignoring the strange looks I get from pedestrians on the street.

After a few moments, I hail a taxi and head back to the firm, steadying my breathing as I sit in the back.

As soon as I enter the building, I rush to my office, trying to avoid the questions about the infamous Ashford brothers.

It's one of our most high-profile cases in the firm and since word got out, people have been obsessed with hounding me with questions about them.

If I have to answer another question about how attractive they are on a scale of 1-10, I'm going to scream.

Hannah walks into my office after me and shuts the door, smiling widely as I sit down in my chair.

"What's up?" I will my voice to sound natural despite the anxiety I'm feeling.

Seriously, what is wrong with me?

"You look all flustered after meeting with the Ashfords," she smirks, sitting down opposite me. I roll my eyes and grab my compact mirror, checking my face for any blushing.

"No I'm not," I say, inspecting my normal face.

"But the fact that you did check means there was something to be flustered about," she laughs, making me roll my eyes and sit back with amusement on my face.

"You should be a lawyer," I laugh with her.

"I know," she flicks her auburn hair behind her shoulder and stands up.

"I'll get you a tea," she picks up my mug and winks before leaving the room.

She's a godsend.

As I begin to draft some client letters, I'm soon interrupted by Liam who strolls in whilst typing on his phone. He doesn't look up until he is sat down, giving me chance to roll my eyes without him seeing.

"How was it, then?" he asks as he tucks his phone in his navy blue blazer pocket.

"It was good," I say as I return back to typing on my computer, "The offices are nice."

"I bet they are," he scoffs, making me look up at him again, "It's a multi-million pound business. What do you expect?"

Awww, condesention.

My old friend.

"Respectfully, please leave, Liam. I have a lot of work to do," I smile fakely at him before returning back to my work.

"Fine, fine," he stands up and walks out.

Hannah returns with my tea just as Liam is leaving and gives me an exasperated look that makes me smile.
