Love in the Shadows
Steve Rogers stood behind his mom's
florist booth at the bustling organic
market, arranging a bouquet of roses. The recent breakup with Sharon, who had loudly declared him "needy" to everyone, still gnawed at him.
Determined to keep his mind off it, he focused on helping his mom, Sarah, with the shop.
"Can I help you with something?" Steve
asked, his voice tight, as a strikingly
attractive woman stopped by the booth.
"I like these roses," (Y/N) said, examining
the flowers.
"But I'm not home much to water them. I don't need a needy plant."
The word "needy" triggered something in Steve, and he couldn't help the edge in his tone. "Maybe you should go for a snake plant instead. They're low maintenance."
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, clearly taken
aback. "But I like these roses."
Before the exchange could escalate,
Sarah stepped in, smiling warmly at (Y/N).
"Why don't I wrap these up for you?
They're on the house."
As Sarah wrapped the roses, she leaned
toward Steve and whispered, "She seems
sweet. You should apologize."
Later, Steve found (Y/N) sitting alone at a nearby café. Mustering his courage, he
approached her. "Mind if I join you?"
(Y/N) glanced up, surprised. "Sure."
"I'm sorry about earlier," Steve said, sitting down. "It's been a rough day."
"It's okay," (Y/N) replied. "I could use some coffee. How about you?"
They spent the afternoon sharing stories.
Steve told her about his father's injury and his responsibilities on the farm. Though (Y/N) kept her job a secret, she found herself enjoying Steve's company.
Days turned into weeks, and they grew
closer. They challenged each other, racing up stairs and sharing laughter.
One evening, Steve confessed his struggle with asthma but brushed it off with a grin. "Tough cookie, right?"
Then, suddenly, (Y/N) stopped responding to his texts. Concerned, Steve's parents urged him to find her. Using every resource he had, Steve tracked her down to England.
He arrived, only to discover (Y/N) in the
middle of a dangerous mission to capture Brock Rumlow. Before he could react, Steve was kidnapped by Rumlow's men. (Y/N) found herself racing against time to save him.
In the Safehouse
Steve woke up in a dimly lit room, tied to a chair. His head throbbed from where he had been hit. The door creaked open,
revealing Brock Rumlow, a menacing
smirk on his face.
"Well, well, if it isn't the farmer boy,"
Rumlow sneered. "What are you doing
here, pretty boy?"
Steve glared at him, his blue eyes burning with defiance. "What do you want with
me?"
