When Saturday eventually arrived, Serena went to the Sky Temple so she could meet up with Raiden. When she arrived, she found Raiden meditating because of his training.
"Hi, Raiden," Serena greeted him.
"Ah, Serena. I see that you have returned from school." Raiden said, smiling at her. "So did you have a good time at school yesterday?"
"I got a new book," Serena said. Then her face fell as she began to think something. "Raiden, do you think I'm odd?"
The Thunder God gave her a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"It's just I don't really fit in. There is no one I can talk to." Serena said.
"What about that silver-haired guy? Has he tried to talk to you?" Raiden asked curiously.
She groaned. "He's handsome alright and rude and unseeded. He's not for me as well."
"I see. Serena, people may think you're odd, but it is their fault to think that. It has been twenty-five years since it happened. Since Shinnok and Quan Chi started the war against Earthrealm. Things haven't changed since the apocalypse." Raide said as he stood beside her.
Serena sighed, nodding. "I know, and I heard that story a lot. Dad used to tell us a lot about what happened twenty-five years ago."
"Serena, would you like to learn about the new technique? It may not be as easy as it is." Raiden said.
She let out a smile. "Sure. Why not?"
He stopped for a few seconds as he sighed. "Serena, there is something I should tell you before we train."
"What is it?" Serena asked curiously.
"Fujin and I won't be here for a while because we had to go somewhere where we should have attended to," Raiden said.
"Where are you and Fujin off to?" Serena asked.
"Somewhere you shouldn't go there. The Netherrealm." Raiden said.
"Oh. I understand. When will you two ever come back after your journey?" Serena asked.
He sighed. "I don't know. I just don't know."
His words made Serena uneasy. She was worried something would happen to them. If Raiden and Fujin hadn't returned yet, she would come find them.
Then he let a smile, changing the subject. "Let's see what you got there, Serena."
Serena smiled back as she nodded. "Okay."
Then they began to train as Raiden was teaching her some new techniques. After the longest training, Raiden eventually brought the amulet for Serena.
"Here is your amulet that I wanted to give to you," Raiden said.
Serena looked at the amulet after she took it. "What kind of amulet is that, Master?"
"The amulet has the power of the Moon. You can eventually control your new power while using it." Raiden said.
"Master, I can't accept it," Serena said.
"I know, but you must keep it while I am away. You will be in charge of protecting Earthrealm but the new protector of Earthrealm." Raiden said.
She sighed before grinning. "Okay, Raiden."
He smiled at her. "Your family will be proud of you one day when the time comes."
It was then Serena gave Raiden a hug. "Thank you, Raiden."
He nodded in response as he hugged her back.
