It has been a few months since the defeat of Shinnok and Diamond. Now Liu Kang and the Earthrealm warriors had returned as they turned back into living humans. They also came back to the group where they used to be as Earthrealm champions.
While their lives went on, everyone was now in peace. Raiden and Liu Kang made a truce and became where they used to be: a master and a student. Just like old times.
Johnny and Sonya got back together after their separation. Serena and Cassie were happy to hear this. Now they were back together as a family.
Cassie continued to be the leader of the Special Force commander and continued to follow in her mother's footsteps.
Strangely, Kung Lao and Kitana became a couple while Jade married off the new emperor of Outworld Kobat Kahn.
Sindel became one of Earthrealm's champions since she was no longer the Queen of Edenia.
Fujin was chosen by Raiden and the Elder Gods to be the new protector of Earthrealm. Of course, Raiden became a mortal and no longer the Thunder God.
Lastly, Liu Kang and Serena got married. They have a dance in celebration of the event just like they did in the ballroom. Liu Kang has Johnny and Sonya's blessings since he was in love with Serena.
Serena became the Goddess of the Moon and the new protector of Earthrealm. She fought enemies on Fujin's and Liu Kang's side. She even continued helping the Special Force and her family. With that, she had followed Raiden's footsteps to follow her dreams.
As time flew by, Serena continued her adventure and love story.
