Liu Kang was leading Serena to the bedroom while walking around in the hallway as Kung Lao joined in. He noticed her sorrowful look as he started to feel bad about her.
Kung Lao quickly walked up to him and whispered in his ear. "Say something to her."
"I hope you like it," Liu Kang said to Serena.
Serena didn't respond.
Kung Lao then suggested he keep talking to her.
"This castle is your home now and you can go anywhere you like, except the West Wing," Liu Kang said.
She gave him a confused look. "What's in the West Wing?"
"It's forbidden!" Liu Kang said as his loud voice echoed through the castle.
Serena sighed as she didn't say anything.
So when they arrived in the bedroom, Serena came inside before Liu Kang would leave her alone for a while.
"Now if you need anything, my servants will attend to you," Liu Kang said.
"Dinner. Invite her to dinner." Kung Lao whispered to him.
Liu Kang sighed in frustration. "You will join me for dinner. That's not required."
Then he slammed the door closed behind her. When she was alone, Serena lay on the bed and started to cry, burying her face into the pillow.
