Serena spent her day crying in the bedroom until she heard the door knock. She stopped crying as she wiped the tears from her eyes. As she sat up, she began talking, saying, "Who is it?"
"This is Sindel, dear."
Serena walked up to the door and opened it, letting Sindel come in.
"I thought you might like a spot of tea," Sindel said, bringing the tray of tea.
"Thank you," Serena said, accepting the tea. She took a long sip of tea.
"Why, aren't you the prettiest one," Jade said with a smile as she and Kitana entered the bedroom.
Serena began to blush a bit. "Oh, um... thanks."
"We haven't introduced ourselves, have we? How rude of me. I'm Sindel. This is my daughter Kitana and her best friend Jade. We serve tea." Sindel said.
"I'm Serena Cage," Serena said.
"Wait. Aren't you Mr. Cage's kid? You look actually like him." Kitana said, pointing it out.
She nodded. "Yes. I am Johnny and Sonya's daughter."
"Sonya Blade? Are they married?" Jade asked curiously.
"They did, but they were divorced after they had us," Serena said.
"You had a sibling?" Kitana asked.
"I had an older sister who worked for Special Force named Cassandra Cage," Serena said.
"I see," Jade said.
"Are you part of Special Force, too?" Sindel asked.
She shook her head. "Not really. I am Raiden's student. I will be the new guardian of Earthrealm."
"That was a very brave thing you did, my dear," Sindel said.
"We all think so," Jade said with a sad look.
Serena sighed as she looked away sadly. "But I lost my master. I lost my family. My dreams. Everything."
"Cheer up, child. It'll turn out alright in the end. You'll see." Sindel cheered the poor girl up until she and Kitana took off, leaving Jade to help Serena out.
"Well now. What should we dress you for dinner?" Jade said looking at the dress through the closet. She then brought out the pink dress and showed it to her.
"What about this dress? This will be pretty on you." Jade said.
"That's very kind of you, but I'm going to dinner," Serena said.
"But you must!" Jade said. Then they heard the door knock and saw Nightwolf coming in.
"Dinner is served," Nightwolf said.
