Chapter 29: The Spell Is Broken

"Liu Kang...!" Serena placed his hand on her left cheek, looking into his eyes. She wanted to feel his warm hand one last time.

He let out a weak smile. "Serena... you came back..."

"Of course, I came back. I'm so sorry, Liu. This is all my fault. If only I had gotten here sooner." Serena said her tears streaming down her face.

"Maybe... it's better... this way..."

"Don't talk like that. You'll be alright...!" She was about to sob when she couldn't bear seeing Liu Kang dying in her arms.

"W-We're together now...! Everything is going to be alright!" Serena sobbed.

He smiled before his last breath. "At least I got to see you one last time..."

It was then Liu Kang's body no longer responded when he had his last breath. Serena was shocked knowing he died.

"Liu Kang, no! Don't leave me! Please! I love you, Liu Kang! Liu Kang!" Serena sobbed. This caused the spell to finally be lifted and revive Liu Kang and return him and all of his friends to their human selves just in time.

This shocked Serena, her family, and the warriors to see Liu Kang alive but then turning back into a living human.

"Serena...! Guys...! It's me!" Liu Kang said in relief after finding out he was alive and a human. At first, Serena didn't recognize him when she was confused. Then she realized it was him when she looked into familiar eyes, the new love of her life.

"It is you!" Serena exclaimed. With that, Liu Kang and Serena eventually kissed as everyone exclaimed in celebration.

After that, Liu Kang reunited Raiden, Sonya, Johnny, and all of his friends who turned back into living humans.

Kitana reunited her mother Sindel as they were back to normal again and then she reunited her best friend Jade.

Raiden was feeling happy to have Liu Kang and the others back, bringing them back to the Earthrealm gang like they used to be twenty-five years ago.
