A week had passed since Joshua and Jeongin moved into their new apartment. Joshua’s days were long, leaving for the office at 9 AM and not returning until 8 PM. During those hours, Jeongin stayed home alone, a situation that had begun to wear on the young boy.
One evening, as Joshua walked through the door, he found Jeongin sulking on the couch, his coloring books and toys scattered around him.
"Hey, buddy. How was your day?" Joshua asked, setting down his briefcase and loosening his tie.
Jeongin looked up, his face scrunched in frustration. "Boring. I don't like being alone all day, Dad."
Joshua's heart sank. He had been so focused on getting settled and adjusting to his new routine that he hadn’t realized how lonely Jeongin must have felt. He knelt down in front of his son. "I'm really sorry, Jeongin. I didn't know you were feeling this way."
Tears welled up in Jeongin’s eyes. "I miss playing with you. And there’s no one to talk to."
Joshua hugged him tightly. "I understand. We'll figure something out, okay? I promise."
The next morning, Joshua decided to talk to Seungkwan and Mingyu before heading to work. He found them near the community garden, chatting while their kids played nearby.
"Morning, guys," Joshua greeted, his concern evident.
"Morning, Joshua. You look a bit troubled," Seungkwan noted.
"Yeah, Jeongin’s been feeling really lonely during the day while I’m at work. I was wondering if you had any suggestions."
Mingyu nodded sympathetically. "That’s tough. Maybe he could spend some time with Ha-eun? She has a part-time nanny who’s here during the day."
Seungkwan agreed. "Ha-eun would love the company. And there's a great daycare in the society too. It’s just a few buildings over."
Joshua’s face brightened. "That sounds like a perfect solution. I’ll check out the daycare and talk to the nanny."
Later that day, Joshua arranged for Jeongin to visit the daycare. Jeongin’s face lit up when he saw the colorful rooms filled with other kids his age. He immediately joined a group building a block tower, his earlier complaints forgotten.
Joshua also spoke with Ha-eun’s nanny, Mr.Lee, who was more than happy to have Jeongin join their little group a few days a week. This arrangement gave Jeongin a mix of structured play and relaxed time with Ha-eun, keeping him engaged and happy.
Over the next week, Jeongin’s mood improved dramatically. He made new friends at the daycare and enjoyed afternoons with Ha-eun and Mr.lee When Joshua returned home each evening to get his son from day care, he was greeted by a smiling, excited Jeongin who couldn't wait to share stories about his day.
One evening, as Joshua and Jeongin sat on their balcony, Joshua asked, "So, how was today, buddy?"
Jeongin beamed. "It was great, Dad! We painted pictures at daycare, and then I played with Ha-eun and minmin And guess what?yeji showed me how to make paper airplanes!"
Joshua chuckled, relieved and happy. "That sounds amazing, Jeongin. I’m so glad you’re having fun.but who is minmin and yeji?"
"Ahh,yeji is daughter of Mr.lee and minmin is brother of Mr.lee""Seems like you already getting all family of Mr.lee, it's good but within next month your school be starting, we gonna choose new school for you!"
Jeongin nodded enthusiastically. "Thanks, Dad. I like it here now,so put me in same school as them"
Joshua hugged his son, feeling content, this was becoming everything he had hoped for.
"Sure"
