22. Unexpected, but expected.

As Taylor groaned awake the next day, she immediately went to go to Johnny's room.

Just as she thought, he was not in there. She expected that to happen. You can never underestimate drunk people.

With a huff, Taylor stretched her arms before walking to the kitchen to make breakfast. Honestly, she couldn't be bothered eating, but she was also really hungry. So, she made herself eggs and bacon. The bacon was probably over-due, but she didn't notice anything different about the taste.

A few hours later, Taylor was sitting on the couch once again - bored out of her mind. Her phone became boring, she was also bored with watching tv. There was nothing else to do. Johnny wasn't home, and Miguel was in the hospital. Who knows where Harvey was?

Taylor had to get out of that apartment. She had a vehicle. But where would she go? She would be un-suspended from school now, but she didn't want to see anybody. Sam was probably un-suspended too, and Taylor still didn't forgive her for what she did. And even though Miguel also cheated on Tory, she didn't care. Tory was a bitch. A murderous, violent bitch. So why should she be forgiven?

Abruptly, a few loud knocks sounded from the door.

With a quiet groan, Taylor got up from the couch. She didn't care how she looked.

"Hello?" Taylor said as she opened the door.

Standing there, right in the flesh, was Laurie Jones. Laurie Jones and no Marley.

Still, Laurie Jones.

Taylor gulped. She didn't have anything to say, and neither did Laurie. They just stood across from each other without a word. It was honestly kind of awkward.

"Morning." Laurie finally greeted with a soft voice.

Taylor inhaled a big breath, then exhaled. "Morning." She replied blandly.

Laurie smiled. "Do you want to go for breakfast?" She questioned, like this was just a regular meeting.

Taylor frowned. No. No, she didn't want to go for breakfast.

"I've already had breakfast."

Laurie chuckled, "Well, maybe we can go for a drink? I'll pay." She asked with a smile still on her face.

Taylor didn't trust her. Not one bit. But Taylor tried to remain polite.

"Okay, then. I'll get dressed." There was no way she was going to go out with a plain grey sweatshirt and black sweatpants with her hair looking like a bird's nest.

Laurie nodded. "I'll wait out here."

When the two arrived at the small café, they got a seat right by the window. It was quite a sunny day, actually. The heat was nice.

Laurie cleared her throat. She had been thinking about was she was going to say for the whole day. Yes, she wanted to make amends, but she didn't know how.

"So, I heard about the, uh, fight at the school." Laurie started off.

Taylor nodded. "It was all around the news, right?"
