Nemuri wasn't sure how long they spent cuddled in the make-shift nest before she heard some tiny tummy's rumbling.
"I think it's about time for lunch," Nemuri smiled. "I can call Emi and have her meet us somewhere?"
Aizawa groaned. "Why? She is annoying."
"She's my mate," Nemuri smiled. "Would you boys like to meet another pack member?"
The two children glanced at each other. After a moment, they nodded, though they looked nervous.
"You guys will love Emi," Yamada smiled. "But you might know her better as Ms. Joke."
Hitoshi's eyes brightened. "The Ms. Joke? The Alpha hero who is known for making the bad guys laugh?"
"The same one," Yamada laughed.
Izuku glanced between Nemuri and Yamada, frowning. Aizawa seemed to understand.
"Yes, both of your aunts are alphas," Aizawa explained. "It is possible for the same secondary genders to fall in love. Not ever relationship has to be alpha and omega. We have some friends that are both omegas that are mated. Some relationships where you have a beta and an omega or a beta and an alpha."
Izuku contemplated it. Nemuri studied her nephews and saw the confusion in Izuku's eyes.
"Sweetheart, can you use your words?" Nemuri prompted.
Hitoshi spoke up for his friend. "Our parents were very traditional. Alpha and Omega or Beta and Beta relationships only. And quirks were very important as well."
"So it's odd to hear about two alphas together?" Nemuri asked, making sure she understood.
"Yes," Izuku whispered. "Sorry."
Yamada pulled his son into his lap, cuddling him close. "Don't ever apologize for something like that, pup. You are allowed to ask questions. It is natural to be confused by new things. Based on what your brother told us, it is understandable that you've never experienced what love or a pack really is. That is part of our job."
Izuku looked up at him, confused. "Is...okay?"
"Always, pup," Yamada promised. "It is always okay to ask questions. Learning is fun."
Hitoshi seemed to be thinking. "So...we can ask any question?"
"Anything you feel like you need to know," Aizawa answered gently. "Do you have a question?"
Hitoshi chewed on his thumbnail for a moment. "What...if don't want to mate?"
"Then you don't have to," Aizawa shrugged. "Mating is up to you, not the world. Its your life. If you want to mate, do so. If you don't, then don't. Neither way is wrong."
Izuku glanced at Hitoshi who blushed. "Brother?"
"I just..." Hitoshi hesitated. "I don't really feel attracted to any specific gender or secondary gender. I thought it made me weird..but I guess that's okay"
Nemuri smiled. "It is perfectly okay. It's called a spectrum for a reason. You're allowed to feel however you feel so long as anyone involved is consenting."
"Nem," Aizawa groaned.
"Like I'm lying?" Nemuri challenged.
"No, but they're a little young," Yamada laughed. "Now, do you boys feel up to going out? I think your auntie might want to take you shopping."
The two boys glanced at Nemuri. The woman smiled. "He's right. As your auntie, my job is to protect you and spoil you."
"So long as we keep it simple," Aizawa warns. "But it's up to you two."
