Life seemed to be steadily improving for the youngest pack members. They were excelling in school and in their training. Izuku was showing a talent for creating support items with Power Loader as his mentor. Hitoshi seemed to be a natural at the capture weapon his dad wielded so easily and loved training with it. Katsuki was quickly learning how to hone his explosions as well as utilize them to push himself in his hand to hand fights.
The trio was quickly becoming known as the Elementary School Big Three at UA. The students loved seeing the trio in the halls and during trainings. In fact, so many enjoyed the kids that they even started eating lunch in the cafeteria. Aizawa had to admit it was adorable to watch the trio of boys chatting with third years and causing general havoc for Ekko's pack. The rare moment some uninformed student tried to pick on the "babies" at school, Hitoshi or Katsuki would happily show off their growing skills.
Katsuki, while still aggressive and volatile, was the poster child for controlled chaos. He was a well planned demolition explosion with both his hands and his words. He'd made more than one older student flee with a broken nose or bleeding mouth for coming at them. The only time he lost his temper and his control was when someone targeted Izuku.
Hitoshi was no better. He had adopted his dad's calm and cold demeanor. He easily unnerved many of Aizawa's students with how like his dad he had become. He quirked more than one into doing something horribly embarrassing before warning them against coming for their little group again. He had used his fists only a handful of times...and all were because Izuku had been the sole target.
Izuku never talked in the cafeteria, but he engaged eagerly with the students he seemed to like using his support item or his book. He was always bright and cheerful, even in the face of the occasional bully...so long as he wasn't their focus. Those times left him silent and stone faced. He'd cling to whatever comfort item he had and would go nonverbal in every way. He never raised a hand to any of his attackers, which worried the adults in his world. He would stand up for Katsuki or Hitoshi if they were the target - usually by throwing something at the offending party from his lunch tray, then baring his teeth. If he was the target, then the child would shut down.
Inui worked with his little pupil, but admitted he felt like he wasn't making any headway in that particular area. He reassured the parents that they most likely just needed to give him lots of time but that he would eventually do better. Nora, the nurse who had become a steadfast member of their pack, had dove head first into working with Izuku on social interactions. She reported he was doing better if he felt safe. She added that he'd told her he felt safe at UA, he just didn't trust everyone. And that information is what the two sets of parents were pouring over in Nemuri's living room after dinner that night.
"What are we going to do?" Yamada asked. "The boys really should be socializing with others their age, but I don't trust sending them somewhere else."
"Same," Nemuri sighed, rubbing her temples as she glanced towards the kitchen table where the boys were all working on their homework. "Especially since they're advanced. Didn't Inui say Izuku was almost at a sixth grade level?"
"Yep and the other two aren't far behind," Aizawa muttered. "They'd be bored out of their minds at a normal school that would insist on putting them in their age appropriate grade level."
The two adults continued muttering about their very limited options, including maybe bringing in other kids despite no other staff member having kids their boys' ages. The door popped open with Emi and Yamada entering looking pissed.
"What's wrong?" Aizawa asked, confused. He opened his arms to his mate who flopped into them.
"I hate people," the blond grumped, turning his face into his mate's chest.
