Hitoshi hummed as he read the latest novel he'd gotten with his allowance. While he did value the library, he loved getting to own the books he cherished. Despite sharing a room and bed with his brother, they each had a shelf in the living room for their growing reading collection. With this boo, he knew he had more than Izuku, but his brother didn't mind.

Despite how in love with reading he was, Izuku had started collecting notebooks full of information about heroes and quirks. Their papa once said that one of them was a voracious reader while the other was going to put the best authors out of business.

"Toshi."

Izuku's quiet voice pulled him from his fantasy world created by the words on the page.

"What's up, Zuku?" Hitoshi responded as he slid the bookmark into place.

The small boy crawled into their nest and snuggled up to Hitoshi. The larger child just held his brother, letting him process whatever he was feeling. He just held him close and ran calm, gentle fingers through his curls.

"Ekko's sad," Izuku whispered finally.

"Why do you say that?" Hitoshi asked.   He frowned when his brother just tried to snuggle closer.  "So something happened at training then?"

Green curls bobbed as he nodded.  Hitoshi considered his options.

"Would it help to use my quirk?  Make it easier to talk?" The purple haired boy wondered.

Again the green curls bobbed as his brother nodded.   Hitoshi smiled.   He knew that Izuku trusted him and his quirk without question.  He also knew that it sometimes helped his quiet sibling to not have the control when he had a lot to say.

"Okay," Hitoshi said.   "Are you ready?"

"I'm-" Izuku started.  The whisper stopped as the green haired kid fell under his quirk.

"So what happened at training today?" Hitoshi asked.

Izuku sat up, green eyes unfocused, as the words began to spill softly from his lips.

"Ekko and I were training when her phone rang.   I couldn't hear who was on the other end, but she seemed to get really, really angry and then really, really scared and then really, really sad.   When I asked her what was wrong, she just assured me that it wasn't anything I needed to worry about.   But then Big Brother came in to walk her home and he looked super duper mad!   He asked her why that woman was calling."

"That woman?" Hitoshi interrupted.

"He wouldn't say what lady, just called it that woman.   She got really mad at him and shouted something in English.   Then they were both shouting in English.   She was ready to cry, and he smelled really...I didn't recognize the scent.   I know she called him a really mean name and he just shouted that he was going to tell the pack.   She said that if he did, she'd disappear and then she left.   He was going to follow, but didn't want to leave me alone.  So, he brought me home and went to find her.   I'm worried about her.   I don't think whoever made the phone call was a good person.  I'm scared she's really gonna run away."

The rambling stopped and Izuku sat silent.   Hitoshi released his quirk and pulled his brother closer against as the traumatized boy sniffled and trembled.

"Hey, thank you for telling me," Hitoshi said softly.   "Now we gotta tell dad cause he's her teacher, okay?"

Izuku nodded, pulling Usagi into his arms.   Hitoshi gave him a few more moments before they began to move to the edge of the bed to get up.  It didn't take long to find Aizawa sitting in his office grading papers.
