Kyle "Gaz" Garrick sat quietly in the back of the military transport plane, his mind racing far ahead of the aircraft's slow, steady progress. The mission had been intense, as always, but his focus now was on the personal mission that awaited him back home. His comrades on the team knew he was always eager to return after each deployment, but they didn't know the depth of his urgency.

Years ago, Gaz had met Y/N at a friend's party. The connection between them was immediate and electric, blossoming into a romance that had quickly become deep and unshakeable. They had built a life together in a small, cozy house on the outskirts of the city—a sanctuary where the horrors of his missions felt a world away. That house, filled with love and laughter, was his whole world, and it was Y/N who made it so.

As the plane began its descent, Gaz's heart beat faster. His teammates gave him knowing smiles and nods, familiar with his routine. "In a rush again, Gaz?" Price teased with a grin.

"You know me, Cap," Gaz replied, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Got important things waiting for me."

It wasn't just the homecoming that had him in such a hurry this time. Y/N was expecting their first child. The thought of becoming a father filled him with a mixture of exhilaration and anxiety. He wanted to be there for every moment, to support Y/N and ensure she knew she wasn't alone.

The plane landed with a jolt, and Gaz was the first to disembark, his duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He moved swiftly through the base, completing his debrief with lightning speed. His teammates watched with amused admiration as he practically sprinted to his car.

The drive home felt both excruciatingly slow and a blur of speed at the same time. His mind was a whirl of thoughts about Y/N and the life they were building together. The roads became more familiar, and soon enough, he saw their house in the distance. It was a modest place, nestled in a quiet neighborhood, but to Gaz, it was a palace.

He parked the car and rushed to the door, fumbling with the keys in his excitement. The door opened before he could unlock it, and there stood Y/N, her smile radiant, her belly slightly rounded. The sight of her took his breath away every time, and today was no different.

"Kyle!" Y/N exclaimed, throwing her arms around him.

"Y/N," he whispered into her hair, holding her tight, feeling the warmth and reassurance of her presence. He pulled back to look at her, his eyes filled with love. "How are you feeling?"

"Better now that you're home," she replied, her hand resting on her belly. "The baby has been kicking a lot lately. I think they're excited to meet you too."

He knelt down, placing his hand where hers had been, feeling the faint movements. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked up at Y/N. "I can't believe this is happening. We're going to be parents."

"We are," she said softly, cupping his face in her hands. "And you're going to be an amazing dad."

They stood there in the doorway for a long moment, just holding each other, reveling in the closeness they had missed during his time away. Gaz knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, he would face them head-on because his heart and soul were anchored in this small house, in the love of his life and their soon-to-be-born child.

As they settled in for the evening, talking and laughing, the outside world faded away. Gaz felt a profound sense of peace, knowing that no matter what his missions demanded of him, he would always find his way back home to Y/N. She was his reason for everything, and together, they would face the future with unyielding strength and love.
