The bustling streets of Prague were alive with the hum of chatter and the aroma of freshly baked pastries. Simon "Ghost" Riley moved through the crowd with practiced ease, his senses heightened and alert. He was on a mission, deep undercover, tracking a high-value target who was rumored to be meeting with an arms dealer in the city. His signature skull mask was stashed away, replaced by a nondescript hoodie and jeans to blend in with the locals.
As Ghost navigated through the throng, he caught sight of his target in the distance—a well-dressed man with an air of authority, flanked by bodyguards. Ghost kept a careful distance, his eyes darting to possible escape routes and cover. Just as he was about to move closer, one of the bodyguards turned and locked eyes with him, suspicion evident in his gaze.
Ghost's mind raced. He needed a quick cover, something to deflect the attention. His eyes scanned the crowd desperately, and then he saw her.
A young woman, Y/N, was standing by a café, her attention focused on her phone. She was dressed casually, yet there was something about her that made her stand out—a quiet confidence in her stance, the way she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Ghost knew he had to act fast.
Without hesitation, he strode towards her, his heart pounding in his chest. As he approached, Y/N looked up, surprise flickering in her eyes as she took in the sight of the imposing stranger heading her way.
"Excuse me," Ghost said, his voice low and urgent. "I need your help. Please, just pretend to be my girlfriend for a moment. There are dangerous people watching me."
Y/N blinked, processing his words. There was something about his intense gaze, the sheer urgency in his tone, that made her decision for her. Intrigued and a little excited by the sudden turn of events, she nodded.
"Okay," she replied, slipping her phone into her pocket. "What do you need me to do?"
Ghost relaxed just a fraction, grateful for her quick cooperation. "Just act natural. Hold my hand and talk to me like we're a couple."
He reached out, taking her hand in his. It was warm and soft, a stark contrast to the cold, hard reality of his mission. Y/N squeezed his hand lightly, offering a small smile as if they were indeed just another couple enjoying a sunny day in Prague.
They began walking together, Ghost subtly guiding their path to keep an eye on his target without drawing attention. Y/N played her part perfectly, chatting about the pastries in the café window and the beautiful architecture of the city. Ghost responded as best he could, his mind split between maintaining the cover and tracking his target's movements.
After a few tense minutes, the bodyguard seemed to lose interest, turning back to his duty. Ghost breathed a silent sigh of relief. They had bought themselves some time.
As they continued to walk, Y/N couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. She had always craved a bit of adventure, and now here she was, in the middle of one. "So," she said, glancing up at him, "what's your name?"
Ghost hesitated. "Simon," he said finally, using his real name felt like a small gesture of trust. "Thank you, Y/N. You really helped me out back there."
She smiled, her curiosity piqued. "No problem, Simon. So, are you going to tell me what this is all about, or do I just get to enjoy the mystery?"
Ghost chuckled, a rare sound that surprised even him. "Let's just say it's not safe to talk about it here. But I promise, once this is over, I'll explain everything."
Y/N nodded, accepting his answer for now. "Alright, Simon. Lead the way."
They continued through the streets, Ghost's mind already working on how to complete his mission with this unexpected ally by his side.
