Roach trudged up the stairs to his apartment, his gear feeling heavier with each step. The mission had been grueling, the weight of it settling deep into his bones. He fumbled with his keys, his exhaustion making even the simplest tasks a challenge.

Finally, he pushed open the door to his apartment, greeted by the familiar sight of his living space. But there was something missing – the warmth of company, the comfort of a familiar face. With a sigh, he dropped his gear by the door and made a decision.

Dragging his feet, Roach headed down the hall to Y/N's apartment. His neighbor and best friend, Y/N had a way of easing his burdens with just a smile. He knocked on the door, his heart sinking slightly when there was no immediate answer.

Just as he was about to turn away, the door swung open, revealing Y/N standing there in her pajamas, a sight he would never not get excited to see. Her bare legs in those shorts and... his shirt hanging losely around her shoulders.

He smiled as he knew she was his safety, his happy place and the warmth he missed during those cold and hard missions.

Y/N: Rubbing her eyes sleepily "Roach? Is that you?" she blinks in surprise, noticing Roach standing there

Roach: nods tiredly "Yeah, it's me. Sorry to bother you so late."

Y/N: concerned "Bother? Roach, you're never a bother. Come in." she steps aside to let him in, noticing his fatigued expression

Roach: steps inside, his shoulders sagging with exhaustion "Thanks, Y/N."

Y/N: noticing his weariness, she wraps her arms around him in a comforting hug "Hey, what's wrong? You look exhausted."

Roach: sighs heavily, leaning into her embrace "Just had a rough mission. Things didn't go as smoothly as planned."

Y/N: softly "I'm sorry to hear that. But you're home now, safe and sound."

Roach: nods, appreciating her comforting words "Yeah, that's all that matters."

Y/N: gently pulling away from the hug, she looks at him with concern "You need to rest. Let me make you something to eat."

Roach: smiles tiredly "I'd appreciate that, thanks. But first, I just needed to see a friendly face."

Y/N: smiles warmly "Anytime, Roach. You know I'm always here for you."

She could see the weariness etched into his features, and without hesitation, she took charge, guiding him to the couch and instructing him to sit down.

Roach obediently sank into the couch, his muscles relaxing at the prospect of a brief respite. He fought to keep his eyes open, his gaze fixated on Y/N as she disappeared into the kitchen.

Y/N moved with practiced efficiency, gathering ingredients and utensils with ease. She knew Roach's favorite comfort foods and set about preparing a hearty meal to soothe his tired soul.

As she worked, Roach's eyes remained trained on her, his exhaustion momentarily forgotten as he watched her move about the kitchen. There was something comforting about her presence, something that eased the weight of the day from his shoulders.

Y/N: calling from the kitchen "How do you like your soup, Roach? Extra hearty or more on the brothy side?"

Roach: his voice a little groggy "Extra hearty, please. And maybe some bread if you have any."
