Frank Woods was known for his quick wit and sharp tongue. As a seasoned soldier with a knack for cracking jokes in the most intense situations, he had earned the respect and camaraderie of his comrades. Whether it was on the battlefield or during downtime, he always had a quip ready to lighten the mood.

But when he met Y/N, everything changed.

Y/N wasn't just any woman; she was captivating in a way that left Frank stumbling over his words. He couldn't believe how effortlessly his sharpness abandoned him whenever she was near. She wasn't just pretty; she was beautiful in a way that made him forget his own jokes.

At first, Frank chalked it up to mere attraction. After all, who wouldn't be drawn to someone so striking? Yet, as he got to know Y/N, he realized there was more to her than meets the eye. She was as witty as he was, matching his banter and sometimes even beating him to the punchline.

Their conversations started tentatively, mostly through text messages where Frank found himself eagerly waiting for her replies like a teenager awaiting a crush's text. He'd grin like a fool whenever his phone chimed with her message, his heart racing at the thought of what playful retort or clever observation she might have for him.

In person, though, Frank was a mess. His tongue seemed tied in knots whenever he tried to speak to her face-to-face. He'd stumble over his words, forget punchlines halfway through, and sometimes resort to awkward silences that he would then try to fill with nervous laughter.

Y/N found his nervousness endearing. She enjoyed seeing this other side of Frank Woods—the tough, fearless soldier reduced to a bumbling mess by her mere presence. It made her realize that beneath his tough exterior, there was a man who could be vulnerable and unsure, just like anyone else.

Their dynamic grew stronger with each passing day. They became each other's confidants, sharing jokes, stories, and even vulnerabilities. Frank learned that Y/N had a depth of character that matched her wit, and he found himself admiring her more and more.

Eventually, Frank found his footing. He began to relax around Y/N, able to hold coherent conversations and even return to his usual banter. Yet, he never lost that initial awe he felt in her presence. Y/N, in turn, appreciated the effort Frank put into overcoming his nervousness for her sake.

One afternoon, Frank and his comrades were gathered in their makeshift quarters, swapping stories and trading banter. Frank, as usual, was in the center of it all, cracking jokes and keeping everyone entertained. Little did he know, Y/N had quietly slipped into the room and was standing behind him, enjoying the spectacle with a bright smile.

Frank's friends chuckled at his latest quip, egging him on for more. "Hey, Woods, you've outdone yourself today!" one of them laughed.

"Yeah, keep 'em coming, Frank!" another chimed in.

Embarrassed by the praise, Frank rubbed the back of his neck, not realizing Y/N was right behind him soaking it all in. He turned around suddenly, caught off guard when he saw her standing there with that radiant smile.

"You enjoying the show, Y/N?" Frank grinned nervously, feeling a bit self-conscious now that he knew she had witnessed his usual antics.

Y/N nodded, her smile widening. "Absolutely. You've got quite the talent for making people laugh."

Frank felt his cheeks flush slightly. "Well, you know me, always trying to keep things light."

Later that evening, after Frank dropped Y/N off at her place, she turned to him with a curious expression. "Hey, Frank, can I ask you something?"

He nodded, suddenly feeling a pang of nervousness again despite their comfortable rapport. "Sure, anything."

"Why do you get so nervous around me sometimes?" Y/N asked gently, genuinely curious.

Frank hesitated, trying to find the right words. "It's... I don't know. It's like my tongue gets twisted whenever you're near. I guess I'm just not used to feeling this way."

Y/N smiled softly, reaching out to cup his cheek. "You don't have to be nervous around me, Frank."

Before he could respond, Y/N leaned in and kissed him gently. It was a sweet, reassuring kiss that took Frank by surprise but also filled him with warmth. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as they savored the connection between them.

When they finally pulled apart, Frank was breathless. "Wow," he managed to say, his heart racing.

Y/N chuckled softly. "Next time you feel nervous, maybe you should just let your mouth be occupied with a kiss."

Frank grinned, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. From that night on, he never felt as nervous around Y/N. Their relationship deepened, and Frank discovered a newfound confidence in being himself around her—jokes, quirks, and all. Together, they laughed, teased, and cherished each other's company, building a bond that only grew stronger with time.
