I don't know why I love the troupe of childhood friends to lovers for Eddie but I do, so this is the second one I'm doing for them, but they are not tied to each other. :)

Y/N - your name

E/C - your eye color

Eddie's POV

I had known Y/N my whole life. From neighbors to friends to best friends. We had been at each other's side. We moved across the country together to raise our kids. She is my favorite person. It shouldn't have surprised me how quickly I fell in love with her. But we'd only been 'dating' for 3 months and I was fighting the urge to get down on one knee and propose every minute of the day.

This morning I woke up and decided to make a nice breakfast. Y/N and I had worked all day yesterday. I was looking forward to being off today.

I was never a great cook, but I figured I could whip up some eggs to start off our Saturday. I'd been cooking for about 10 minutes with the kids came barreling into the kitchen.

Well Gemma, Y/N's 6 year old, was barreling in like a bull in a china shop. Christopher was quickly crutching. "Uncle Eddie, I'm hungry." Gemma whined. She looked just like Y/N with her big (E/C) eyes. Her hair was sticking up in a million directions.

"Then it's a good thing I'm making breakfast." I smiled.
Gemma scrunched her nose. "Is that what you're doing?"
"Or is that what you are trying to do?" Chris asked.
I shook my head in disbelief. "It's gonna be good." I insisted.

They both looked skeptical, but sat down and waited for me.

I was about to flip my fried egg when smoke started coming from the toaster. "Oh no!" I said as I yanked the cord out of the wall. I started to wave the smoke away but it seemed to just keep coming.

Before I knew it the smoke alarm was beeping. "Oh damn it." I exclaimed as I rapidly started to wave the smoke away from the alarm.

"Uncle Eddie, Mommy says not to say that word."

I sighed as I kept trying to blow the smoke away from the alarm. I heard the window open behind me. I spun around to see Y/N waving smoke out the window. I hadn't even heard her come in.

"Yeah, Uncle Eddie. We don't say that word." she said with a light smirk. The beeping stopped and I exhaled. "Well that was exciting!" Gemma said from the table.

I ignored Gemma and I leaned forward and put my hands on Y/N's hips and pulled her towards me. "Good morning." I whisper. She just shakes her head and gives me a smile. "Good morning, dork."

With her this close to me I can see the exhaustion lined on her face. She is still beautiful, but the dark circles under her eyes and the worry line above her brow are noticeable.

"Can we go out to breakfast?" Christopher asks. Y/N leans back and flips my eggs which are also looking very...black.

We look at each other before saying "Yes."

An hour later we are sitting at our favorite diner. We are all dressed in shorts and T-shirts as it is very warm out. Y/N and I sit next to each other with the kids across from us.

"Do you need help?" I ask Christopher as he tries to break apart his french toast. He shakes his head. "I can do it myself." I smile. "Of course you can. I was just checking."

I put my hand on Y/N's leg. "Is that all you wanted?" I look over at her half-eaten bagel and side of fruit. Y/N loves breakfast and I was surprised she didn't order a waffle or french toast, but if there is one thing I know as a man it is NOT to comment on what a woman is eating.
