This was one of my earlier poems (like nov 2023) and honestly? It's not too bad lmao
The context is all in the poem :)
*******
Why did you leave?
"Why did you leave?"
She asked me softly
"I don't think they liked me"
I answered the question
She laughed it off
"That's not true"
"Why did you leave?"
I jokingly asked her after class
Hardly catching up to her in the hall
"I thought you left already"
She answered me
The lie comes like a snake
"Why did you leave?"
I asked the ghost of my old friend
Looking at her with the popular girls
They're a swarm of wasps
Huddled together
And the sting echoes in my head
"Why did you leave?"
A crowd of people asked
Gathering around the six-foot hole
It wasn't an accident or another's fault
But rather the sad truth of a story
Wasn't it?
"Why did you leave?"
A lone girl asked
Loved for her outer, keeping her inner inside
She knew she was a reason for the loss
And her life spirals
Out of control
