It was lunchtime at U.A. and hundreds of students crowded into the cafeteria. Each person clamoring to get today's lunch: grilled fish, fried rice and miso seaweed soup.
You sat at one of the tables with the tray of food in front of you, waiting to be eaten, but you weren't hungry. You anxiously fidgeted with the ring on your middle finger; twisting the gizmo in all sorts of patterns only you could understand. You hadn't had an appetite since you saw Eri and the state she was in. You couldn't stop thinking about it—about her.
When you finished your visit with Eri two days ago, you filled in Sir Nighteye about the conditions and where she was being held. He informed everyone else and started making preparations to attack tomorrow night. Coincidentally, Chisaki wanted you to come back the same night to take care of Eri. You wanted to go sooner. You held yourself back from engaging in the impulsive act, though you knew she was suffering because of the wait the Pro Heroes were putting her through.
You were snapped out of your thoughts by trays slamming against the table across the way from you. Iida, Todoroki, and Midoriya sat down ahead of you, while Uraraka and Yaoyorozu sat on either side of you.
"Not eating?" Yaoyorozu asked you as she started to pick at her fish.
"I was just about to." You answered, not looking at anyone. You picked up your chopsticks and started playing with your food, mixing the contents together on your plate. The thought of Eri being left in that building to be tortured by the evil man never left your mind. You wanted to take her with you when you left, not wait another few days. So much could happen and you didn't want to imagine it. You looked at the food in disgust, having no desire to eat anymore.
"(Y/N)." You followed the sound of the voice to the boy sitting in front of you. Todoroki set down his utensils, "Is everything okay?"
Midoriya agreed, chewing his food as he nodded, "You've been looking a little down since we started our work studies."
"It's just a little depressing." You pushed your food away, folding your arms on top of one another on the table.
"I agree." Uraraka said before sipping on her can of soda. "I think we've all been upset since taking on this investigation. I mean, what kind of monster would do that to a kid? It must be hard on you, (Y/N), because you actually got to see her, but couldn't—"
"And I couldn't do anything about it." You said, saddened by the harsh truth.
Midoriya shot Uraraka a look, he tilted his head slightly to your figure. "Don't make her even more upset."
