Todoroki held the door open for you as you stepped out of the black limo and into the early evening air. You were hit with the overwhelming scent of freshly cut grass. You observed the outside of the residence; it looked like any other traditional Japanese house. The color scheme more on the neutral side with charcoal grey, brown and creme white being the palette. The sound of birds chirping non-stop caught your attention in a far right tree. The trees swayed in the evening breeze, causing some leaves to dwindle onto the stone path.
Your shoes softly shuffled against the mineral, blended with the sound of Todoroki's sneakers hitting the ground. You walked on the right side of Todoroki, only slightly falling behind in pace. You were no longer curious about the Todoroki family—only full of the jitters. You realized this was the home of Number One Hero: Endeavor. That was intimidating enough. You wanted to go home. Part of you wanted to turn around and hail the driver to come back, but you stayed strong. Holding your head high in a confident manner.
"My family doesn't know." Todoroki blankly stated, continuing to look forward at the house. You were nearing the door faster than you wanted to. You gave him a confused look, unable to piece together what he meant. He took a moment to glance at you, seeing your puzzled facial expression. Todoroki thought it was cute. "They don't know we're together."
Your features fell. You didn't know if you should feel relieved at the fact that you didn't have to put on as much as an appearance or if you should feel offended. Maybe Todoroki just hadn't gotten around to telling them or maybe he was ashamed of you—but if he was, he wouldn't have brought you around. You wanted to assume it was the timing of it all.
"That's okay." You met eyes, giving him a reassuring smile—one that said you didn't mind as long as you were with each other.
Before Todoroki could even raise his fist to knock on the wooden door, Fuyumi had opened the sliding doors. Her white hair was tossed back into a messy high ponytail, with streaks of red peeking out. Her squared framed glasses sat low on her nose before she pushed them up. You both analytically eyed one another—not in an impolite manner, but in a way that said you recognized each other.
Fuyumi was the first to speak, "Hey, aren't you the girl that saved my purse from that guy?"
"Yeah, I remember you." You said, surprised at the coincidence. It was in this moment that you realized you never knew what Todoroki's family looked like except for his father. You looked between the brother and sister, seeing the family resemblance.
Without hesitation, Fuyumi wrapped her arms around you, slightly pushing Todoroki away. She tightly squeezed you as you lifted your hands to lightly pat her back. She smelled of freshly washed linen and lavender—which you loved.
